Q: Is the press-cone & all the food-contact parts food-grade 304 stainless steel? The testing question is, can a magnet stick to it?

The press cone is cast aluminum. The rest of contact points are stainless. The press cone can be wrapped with cling film prior to use.

Q: Before deciding which one? Are the compression parts cup and press on this all made of stainless steel? If aluminum is it oxidation safe? Thanks

The press head (cone; the part, which moves down towards the fruit) is made of aluminum. It does not corrode. It is polished on the outside, the inside is not polished and becomes slightly discolored over time. The outside which is polished do not become discolered. The filter and the filter bowl are made from stainless steel (AISI 304).

Q: whats the difference between this one and the purple one?

The purple one is slightly bigger in the cup-holder, which is better for pomegranates.
