Works great
Installed on a Mercruiser 5.0 with alpha 1 gen 2 outdrive to solve slow planing. The boat is a 20' Monterey Montura. Plenty of power, but the boat loaded just has a stern heavy situation. I don't allow the kids up front when the boat is on plane and the water is choppy so to the big couch in the back they go, hence the always stern heavy. Boat would plane out nice at 18-20 mph but that's a tad fast for kids learning to knee board etc. With the SE300 it made all the difference in the world. Now it has very little now lift and full plane is achieved at 14-15 MPH. Much more comfortable for everyone in the boat, and I can safely see over the bow while seated.Install is straight forward, follow instructions and center the foil and mark your holes carefully before you drill. I also chamfered the holes once drilled to relieve any chips or micro cracks from drilling. Then treat the holes with self etching primer and small paint brush. I used large area stainless steel washers (not supplied) on the bottom where the hardware contacted the cav plate. This spreads the load of the screw over a larger area and will prevent cracks or damage to the cav plate.

No brainer
This is a well built, heavy duty item. Really easy to install and works well.

16’ Lund angler 50hp motor
2021 Lund angler 50hp motor. Been using for about a year. Had no complaints about the boat in the first place, just had positive experiences with this style hydrofoil in the past. I do 50/50 shallow rivers to big lakes. Thing works great. Got 2mph top end stock prop @ 6k rpm (28mph to30mph). Once you get the feel for the trim, the nose really doesn’t rise at all at take off. Very nice for shallow rivers. Planes faster and once you get on plane you can slow back down a little and remain there. I can turn sharper without cavitation (still cavitates, not as quickly). This product is boat specific. Different experience on my old 16’ bass tracker, and a 20’ pontoon. Still good results but no top end gain with tracker or pontoon. I want to add I didn’t want to drill through the node so I shaved the hydrofoils opening wider so it slipped further back. Mounting holes now miss the node. Also, if the hydrofoil is level with the cavitation plate it doesn’t work as well. Putting some nylon washers in the front of the foil to angle the rear of it down had better results. Obviously, too much angle slows the boat down. You’d think they’d mention something about angling the foil to fit your needs.

It’s worth it!!
Received on time and in great condition. Item as described, which I ordered the gray. Unboxed my item and began the installation. Installed in a matter of minutes, reason being there were already holes drilled for one. Bolts for my installation were just a bit too short. (Johnson GT150) will replace with longer cap bolts and new nylocks, fit and finish to the motor looks greatBoat installed to, 18’ Bass Boat, with Johnson GT 150, prop Raker 14 1/2 - 22 pitchPerformance: Full throttle, boat comes on plane very quickly. Once on plane began to trim the motor. Boat response better to trim changes, turning, and removed the porpoising problem that’s very uncomfortable to keep the boat on plane. Reduced throttle to see how long it took to come of plane. Boat cruises at 3000 rpm on plane with ease now. Makes looking for fishing spots and reading depth finder way more enjoyable. Other than looking at WOT, while bouncing around. Coming off plane the boat now slowly settles in the water. Overall, I’m extremely pleased with this product performance and the added safety to see ahead while coming on plane. Top speed could careless about if it was lost, I have all day to get there. If you have these three issues: nose too high too long, porpoising at high speed, slow tuning responses. YOU should have already bought one. Stop questioning, buy one, and enjoy your day on the lake.

Easy install, built to last.
I had one these on my outboard for 20 yrs, held up to years of abuse, bumping into rocks, used as a step, Arizona hot summers. I originally bought it for extra lift and stability in turning. My motor is only 50hp so speed is not a factor. I don't know what plastic resin they used to make it but it held up. I hope to get same performance out of this new one.1998 Yamaha f50tlrx. Great product for the price
Fairly simple to install. I did have to remove the prop to drill the holes, because the forward holes had to be drilled from the bottom because of the outboard design. My boat is a 20 foot bow rider that weighs 4500 pounds. It has a 5.0 Mercruiser inboard motor.Took it out yesterday and it gets on plane noticeably quicker and stays on plane at lower speeds. We boat in a shallow inland lake (Buckeye Lake, Ohio) so getting on plane quickly is important. Also we tube with kids frequently so staying on plane at a slower speed is equally important. I bent my first prop plowing through the water trying to stay slow while pulling a tube. Luckily it was only the prop. This is a great addition for anyone looking for quicker “planing” and slower “planing” speeds. As for top end speed and gas mileage I don’t know. I’m a Dad and boats suck for gas mileage.
