Will these gloves protect my hands from blistering while tying very tight knots with nylon rope or paracord?

that's a very specific question bob. i suppose they will protect like any other glove that is not of leather. if you are specifically interested in rope work, may i suggest leather ones for rock climbing.

My hand measures 8 3/4”. Should I go with large or x-large?

The gloves run a little small. Although they are intended to be form-fitting, we found them to be a little to right across the widest part of the hand. If you are accustomed to this type of glove you could probably stick with your normal size. If your measurements are close to the next size, you might consider ordering a size up. I hope this helps!
