Shag Rake Carpet Floor Brush for Wessel-Werk Canister Vacuum Cleaner

I'm usually more articulate than this, but - WOW! I have a 3 story house (and stairwell) with a fair amount of foot traffic on a very good quality medium/high pile carpet. I used to hate vacuuming my stairs because it took forever and was a real physical workout. This attachment is just short of a miracle (and yes it fits on any standard vacuum hose). It literally let's me do a better job in under 10 minutes than my regular vacuum took almost an hour to do, and with much less "sweat equity". And that's the great thing - now I don't have to vacuum and then rake my stairs, I can now vacuum and rake at the same time with this attachment - and they look stunning! I just received this, and I know the other reviewer stated they weren't sure if the bristles would last. The only thing I can say about that is these bristles are the same as on a carpet rake I purchased over a year ago that still shows no sign of wear - so I'm assuming these will last equally well. If you have a lot of stairs (especially with high traffic) I highly recommend this gadget - your back and time budget will thank you.

So bought this thing to try and vacuum my very shag rug. Was excited when it came but doesn’t fit and of my hoses on regular vacuum or a shop vacuum. Is there something I’m missing to attach this thing too.

I like that once I got it attached to my vacuum it works great. I do suggest that it should come with a smaller piece to attach just in case it doesn't fit all vacuums. I bought 2 kinds of universal attachments to get it to fit. I eventually returned them and shaved the carpet rake down. I shaved it down with sand paper and it does what I need. That's the only reason that I gave it 3 stars. Having to go the the trouble just to shave it.

I was told about this tool from a friend and so I ordered it. This tool allows you to vacumn a shag rug that is so extreme shag.

Didnt fit in my Bissell vaccuum but i used it as a rake on the shag carpet.Definitely fluffed it up.

The media could not be loaded. I have been using this rake with a shop vac for 4 months , and it makes vacuuming my shag rugs easy. Vacuum strength is reduced but still works well. The rake bristles are still in good shape. Put a foot on one edge to hold the rug. Push rake hard forward to loosen dirt. Pull it backward lightly and slowly to vacuum the debris.

Just useless. I attached it to my canister vacuum and it didn’t really have any capabilities more than the regular vacuum head, that I could tell. Didn’t cause the shag to fluff up. I love shag rugs and had one in the 70’s, you could buy a regular shag rake that was a lightweight version of a gardening rake that worked great; they no longer exist in my research. I also have an upright vacuum that works quite nicely on the shag, I should have just left well enough alone. I did not use it but once so, not sure about durability or sturdiness.
