Way, WAY better than I expected... and my expectations were very high.

Stunning sound, but fundamentally broken HDMI ARC and zero support
I have owned the Audiolab 7000A for over two years. While I cannot fault the sound quality—it is truly excellent—I bought this specifically for the HDMI ARC functionality, and in that department, it has been a total failure. The main issue is a "ghosting" power problem. When you turn the TV and amp off together, the 7000A consistently switches itself back on in the middle of the night. I originally thought it was my older TV, but I have since upgraded to a latest-generation LG flagship, and the exact same issue persists. It is clearly an Audiolab software/handshake flaw that they have failed to address in over two years. To make matters worse, the latest firmware update has introduced a new bug: the screen now pixelates to the point of being unreadable, forcing me to physically power-cycle the unit from the back switch just to see the menu. I emailed Audiolab support about this 10 days ago and have received no response. It’s disappointing that a brand of this heritage offers such non-existent customer service. I cannot recommend this amplifier, especially if you plan on using it as part of a TV setup.

Sounds great. I have it hooked up to my TV and PC and use tidal to stream from the PC. Issue 1. The VU meter doesn't display correctly (see attached picture with no audio). With no volume The left channel is stuck on. If the left channel exceeds that (stuck) volume, it starts working, There are variations on this. I have updated to the firmware that was supposed to fix this too. EDIT: I think this is mainly due to the reason that the low cutoff in the VUmeters is too high, at least for my use. Issue 2. Tried to communicate with Audiolabs USA through their official web channel. Never received a response. Issue 3. Sometimes the hdmi arc/cec stops working and I get no audio. This happens often when after I had switched the source. The only way to get the audio back is to power cycle the 7000a from the back switch. In my media center I can't reach back an do that because my forearm is to large. I have to have my wife do it for me or pull it forward partly out of the media center. The Amazon seller was Audio Advisor Inc. I submitted a review on their site. I got an email from them that they would get back to me. I never heard from them and they did not post my review, which was similar to this.

This is better than the 6000a or 9000a, better than Cambridge, Nad. they don't have computer input or HDMI input. I like it low profile. All my speakers are British. This is the first British Amp I bought. I love the display.
