I ordered the 5 min but got the 15 mins delivered - just meant the kids had to sit in the bath longer! Instead of using towels around the kids necks i put them in old tshirts rolled up and tied with a hairband and plonked them both in a shallow bath to play.I used this as a preventative treatment as a friend we holidayed with found out their kid had nits so cant for sure tell if it worked or not as we didnt confirm we had nits!You need to use a lot of shampoo before the wetting process so i recommend buying a large bottle of shampoo along side hedrin.

This works well, we found out our child had nits, and with one treatment they were gone!! Would definitely recommend.

First, I will say - this stuff does what it says on the tin. It’s nukes the nits.I used full marks (only one application needed) on my daughter and a week later, still wriggly little suckers. So I tried Hedrin.It seems that as they’re dying, the little blighters come to the surface so you can get most of them without the screaming that accompanies the fun job of nit combing.However!… the stuff is basically oil. It says on the packet to put shampoo on first then water. What is doesn’t say is that you’ll need to repeat shampooing if you ever want to be seen in public again.I put the stuff on my hair too, and after a shower, I look like I’d never washed my hair in my life. Yesterday, I showered and used 6 (yes 6!) shampoo applications before my hair felt normal (ish). But it still dried greasy.I shampooed 4 times this morning and will only know the outcome when it’s dry. My daughter doesn’t care, she can have hers in a plait. For me though, I don’t exactly want to greet everyone with “sorry my hair looks like a greaseball, I’ve used nit shampoo”. ☹️Also, it gets all over the bottom of the shower and makes it super slippery. Consequently, it’s then on the bottom of your feet and turns wooden flooring into an ice rink.So yeh, it works, but it brings with it a box of delights that weren’t factored into the bargain.I’m off to get industrial strength nit repellent now so we never have to got through this ordeal again.Enjoy.

I have used this a couple of times over the years and it has always worked and I haven't needed to treat again.I do use it with a nitty gritty to make sure i remove all the lice and eggs whilst it is doing it's job, so it is left on for much longer than 15 mins!I tend to use about 3/4 of a bottle for 1 child (long thin hair) so I'm not convinced 1 bottle will treat 4 people if that have longer hair than chin length!
