Excellent carry profile.
The Heist has great ergonomics for small & medium size hands and overall an excellent carry profile without feeling flimsy. Great cutting geometry blade of D2. Well built with a quality finish considering its budget materials. Runs on washers and provides a snappy opening. The Heist is designed for work and it has its own particular closing action that some may find not satisfying, but once you get use to it, and breaks-in it works just fine. Due to the washers and weight of its thin blade will probably always need a little wrist to close, but again its gets better the more you use it. Don't worry about the bad action comments you find in the internet about the Heist, it works fine. My example has proven to be a solid EDC, with great value for the price and simply a joy to carry.

Great value for the money.
Blade came super sharpLock doesn't have the strongest spring but still provides a firm lockup. This knife punches far above it's weight class at $41. Some snear at D2 steel but its tough and reliable if you oil the blade regularly and use a worksharp woth belts rather than sharpening stones. Overall it's good edc knife for the value.

Excellent budget pocket knife.
Half the cost of the cheapest Benchmade with 7/8 of the quality. D2 blade easily sharpens right up and holds a edge. Great action.

Excellent Value for the Money!
Kershaw did a good job with this one. The price point is excellent and makes this a perfect value purchase. The D2 is a tool steel often referred to as “semi-stainless” as it falls just short of the required amount of chromium (13%) to be full stainless. The edge retention is an 8/10, corrosion resistance is a 2/10 and the ease of sharpening is a 3/10. This means it will hold an edge for a long time, but you'll need to ensure you don't leave it wet. (apply a little oil to the blade) Sharpening can be tedious, but with the edge retention you won't be doing so often. In hand it's thinner then I usually prefer, but for the occasional use, it'll do just fine. The bar lock is one of my favorites and makes this knife fidget friendly. After the initial break-in, you'll find yourself flicking it open and closed just for the fun of it.

Good working mans knife
If you are looking for an affordable crossbar lock knife, then this may be the one. I have multiple "dura-lock" knives from Kershaw. This one is not the smoothest compared to the ball bearing options they make with other models, but I believe that was done intentionally. The washers being used in place of bearings has you sacrifice a bit of smoothness for a big leap in reliability since washers don't gunk up as easy. If you are looking for a classier and smoother dura-lock knife, then get the Kershaw iridium, but if you are looking for a real workhorse that offers near identical performance, then this may be the better model for you.

Decent...but rusts!
I can't say that I'm a 'knife guy'. I like knives. I've carried them for the last three decades. In the last few years I've gotten a more nuanced understanding of knife steels, their strengths and weaknesses...This brings me to this specific knife. Now, I like D2 steel, a lot! For the price point, it's about the best steel out there. Sure, it isn't stainless, but then again it generally isn't overly prone to rust unless you work in wet/maritime conditions. I have numerous knives in numerous steels. D2, S30V, 14C28N, 20CV...I have numerous knives in D2. Ontario RATs, 1 and 2. Steel Will, and now...this. Out of all my D2 knives, this is the only one that has surface rust from exposure to air. I've double checked my other knives, that site in very close proximity to it, in the same room- nothing. This knife, from Kershaw, rusts in the air. Not even moist air. Climate controlled, in-house air.Add on to it the fact that the detent is a little tight, and the spring on the lock-bar is a bit stiff, and I'm giving this knife a 3-star rating. For the money, you can do better.
