Works effectively
Used this to restick some loose parquet flooring as it was recommended by others. Yes, it does work with blocks originally stuck with bitumen. You need to be aware that it is very sticky right from the moment you try to get some out of the tin, so think through your technique first. Once you have the knack you can make good progress. As I was going to sand the floor I wasn't too bothered about any glue on the surface, so if you aren't you'll need to remove all traces with white spirit and elbow grease.

Runny Gripfill
Bought after researching reviews and pleased to say appears to be the right stuff. Used to stick reclaimed parquet flooring blocks (complete with trace bituminous residue) to a concrete floor (in-filling an area previously occupied by an old ceramic fire hearth). Work out your logistics before you start - if you get it anywhere you don’t want it, you’re in trouble. It behaves like Gripfill but with the viscosity of runny honey. Once you’ve spread it on the floor, you’ve got about 5 mins open time. Has quite a good grab and stable in 15 mins, firm in 2 hours, sandable in 48 hours, depending on how thick you clart it on. Go as thin as you can as it will get messy if you start squidging it around and it squeezes up through the joints. I found it best to scoop it out of the tin with the spreader and use the upturned lid as a tray to catch any drips en route to spreading. Sit the lid in place on the tin while you’re not using it as you work to stop it thickening up.All in all, pretty good - loose a star for not being available in smaller quantities.

A really good product!
This does exactly what it says on the tin. I laid two rooms with 4cm x 2cm wooden reclaimed wooden blocks and had no problems at all.You have roughly half an hour before you cannot work with it any more, but that is ample time to lay a short section of flooring.I can thoroughly recommend this product.

sticky stuff!
chrissakes - its like chewing gum - but it does the job! needs a bit of practice to get it out of the tin and where you want it.........but, on my reclaimed parquet floor it has worked like magic where other products failed miserably!

OK
Product is generally good but needs to be spread thickly to bond securely.

Lecol 5500
This stuff is strong & professionals swear by it. But I am a keen & handy DIYer I hate it!It's like chewing gum!I started the job of glueing down reclaimed wooden parquet with Laybond MS Polymer, but ran out. So bought a smaller tub of Lecol 5500. I specifically wanted a chemical glue rather than a PVA water based one (like with exterior paint, I don't believe the eco water-based ones are nearly as hardy).Use the toothed metal spreader as directed. You need less glue than you would imagine. Be warned it's stringy to use (well it would be, being a chewing gum based product)Once it's dried it's like old brittle chewing gum you find under tables!
