Worked in my Midea U 12000 BTU window unit
My 2 year old 12000 BTU Midea U shaped window unit started getting louder and louder and I didn't notice it until it was making my ears ring. The fan motors in these things wear out the bearings and get this high pitched, cricket from hell blowing a vuvuzella, type sound that makes it impossible to be in the room without headphones on. I was ready to replace the entire unit until I saw some youtube videos on another person with a similar problem and how they replaced it.It is not that hard to do the repair and I took the opportunity to clean my fan drum and the coils. You have to remove about a dozen bolts from the inside of the unit, and you do have to open your windows to get the back part off, but you can quickly close it again right after to keep pests out.I chose to remove the entire blower section by undoing the 4 screws around the coils and lifting the entire assembly out. From there it was easy to unbolt and replace the electric motor and clean everything up.This motor is a direct drop in replacement for the factory motor and it came with the rubber bushings preinstalled. You loosen a grub nut on the fan blade, and the motor shaft slides out, then you slide the new motor in and re-tighten. When I got everything back together, the difference in sound was immediate. Gone was the high pitched chattering that made my ears ring, and in it's place was the gentle, quiet, air conditioner I used to love.

Good motor but not as quiet as original Midea motor it replaced
I'm a picky person, so this is probably a good replacement for most people. I bought it to replace a bad motor in my Midea U Shaped window air conditioner, and it is definitely quieter than the old bad motor (bad bearing noise) but it does have its own natural frequency which changes pitch with motor speed. However I am sensitive to unwanted noises and I think for most people it will be fine. Just be aware this is not as quiet as an original Midea motor.

Exact fit
This was a replacement for an existing motor that was slightly noisy. It is a pain in the ass to replace and it is now as quiet as new. So worth it!
