Is the surface of the wooden magnetic strip smooth to prevent scratches on knives?

How safe is the magnetic knife strip? i mean is it strong enough to hold a knife set on it?

This brand's pretty safe as this magnetic strip can firmly hold all my Damascus kitchen knives. The seller says his/her magnetic knife strip can withstand the weight of 25 pounds. So I did some math before buying. One 8" Chef knife of normal steel usually weighs 0.62 pounds. This knife strip can hold around 30 to 32 8" chef knives, not even mention a whole knife set.
