Manrose Primeline PEF6130 Window Extractor Fan with Pullcord & Automatic Shutter

In general this fan is very good, it’s is fairly easy to install and we haven’t had any problems with it at all, but the is one slight issue, I purchased this fan to be used on a double glassed window and the screws that hold the outside vent to the main unit are quite short, they are JUST long enough to hold it in place, so be aware you might need to find some slightly long screws if using this on double glassed windows, other than that I would recommend it.

This is the second fan I have bought of the same make (a replacement), the first one lasted about 4 years and was still working, The problem was the plastic overall was beginning to get brittle and several parts began to break especially around the screw fixings On my latest purchase I have deliberately not tightened the screws as much as before as I think this will cause less stress to the fittings.I bought this particular fan as it was easy to replace the original, the louvers do work well and open and close as they should, it would be good if the unit did not make so much noise but I can live with it as it is only in use in the kitchen, it would be over the top if used in a living area.Overall I would recommend this item for the priceOne good thing I found for the stripped down fan unit with a bit of reconstruction on my part I now have a dust extractor over my lathe.

Replacement kitchen window extractor fan. Strangely the 25w rating is a fair bit noisier than the whisper quiet 45w fan it replaced. It is not too noisy to remain on a few minutes if eating in kitchen though.Unfortunately it is not as secure as the unit it replaced. The shutter servo is slow to act and takes 45 seconds to open and 90 to close. The cord is rather short but a remote switch can be used instead as the shutters operate electrically.None of the fan protrudes into the window cavity. Stating it needs a 185mm diameter hole is incorrect. 145mm would be a better size. The case has external dimension of 203mm. Why couldn't that be stated?A 5 star rating is way off but perhaps some people are easily pleased. The fan works fine but it really should have been designed better.

The fan effectively clears the steam from a 2 metre X 2.3 metre shower room, it is also relatively quiet. Good value for money, would buy again to install in other rooms.

Used this product in the bathroom double glazing window, found it to do the job, why does it have to take so long to open and close after switching?

Easy replacement for existing fan. Very effective extraction, but the noise! Glad I don't have to stay in the room, much louder than previous one. Went for pricier model and expected quieter. Would I buy it again? Probably not.
