Using this switch for my water heater at home
Bought this switch to replace an older switch that stopped working because the App didn't work once Apple upgraded the iPhone to IOS17. This switch works with the Smart Life App and works fine over the cellular network or WiFi. Setup was very easy and mostly use the timer function to automatically start/stop the water heater in the morning for 30mins only. it even adjusted to the summer time automatically. Saves money since you don't leave the heater on all the time and would say it pays for itself in less than 6 months with the savings from the electric bill

Great water heater timer switch
When I installed this water heater timer my family was horrified. They remembered our previous home that had the old fashioned mechanical water heater timer that never kept accurate time and was a pain to everyone except me because I was saving money by saving energy. This new timer connects to wifi and always has the correct time. Also the app is very easy to set a schedule and you can control the switch from anywhere in the world. As shown in the picture you will need to purchase the plastic junction box separately for a few dollars for mounting. I love it, and my family is growing to like it. I did notice a cost savings over last years bill for same month.

Excellent Product&App, but instructions are incompl./lacking for wiring 240-V water heater/appliance
Once I got this connected to my 240-V water heater, it worked great and the app is easy to use. However, its instructions and wiring diagram only address what to do with one live wire and a neutral wire. It left me to figure out what to do with the other live wire and the ground wire.

perfect solution to my lighting problem
re-purposed our RV shed into a new woodworking shop -- power came in at the back -- in order to wire a switch to control the lights by the entry door -- i would have had to run at least 50' of romex -- solution was to wire this switch up between the incoming 20A line and the array of shop lights in the ceiling -- link the switch to alexa -- and when i say " alexa, good morning" -- lights come on and the reverse in the evening -- it appears to be compatible with the 20A circuit and whatever initial surge there is when 12 LED ceiling lights fire up -- has worked like a charm for 2 months -- got to spend that romex $$$ on more woodworking toys ......

Make your old hot water heater smart!
I’ve been using this as a Alexa controlled smart switch for my hot water heater for 6 months and it’s worked out great. It’s similar to an old school “Hot water heater timers” in a way that I have it turn off at night, and back on the following day for washing up after work. I’ve also used it to keep the hot-water heater off while we’re on vacations and road trips. Saves money and hopefully extends the life of our old hot water heater a little. You’d think the water would get cold quick while it’s off, but even 18-20hr later it’s still warm enough to wash dishes and wash your hands. Of course that last part will vary based on how well insulated your hot water heater is and where it’s physically located.

Works well, if the app recognizes it
Took a couple tries to get the app to recognize the switch -- it uses both WiFi and Bluetooth to make the pairing, and something wasn't working.Once installed, it works well, allowing for manual or scheduled switching, and integrates with voice assistants as well.Uses the (newly-)standard Beken module, so you could reflash it with OpenBeken and use it with HomeAssistant if you prefer a less Cloudy experience.
