Quantum Precision Ultra-Bright 6 Watt LED Frameless Magnifier Lamp, 3 Diopter 6x5" Lens with 20 Diopter Insert - White

I've been using this a lot over the pas few weeks, building a 3D printer.PROSLens and magnification is fine and intuitive in use.Small super mag bubble is mildly useful for quick inspections up close.Light is bright.Well built.When "in range" placement is fluid and intuitive. See cons.CONSLight is not adjustable. I sometimes have to tape paper towel over it to reduce glare.My frustration is based on the range of motion. It's picky about positioning when working on something high. When working with a vise it often releases, shooting up. I have to pull it back down and then some and move my work closer or farther from the light to make it happy.Overall, it's good quality, and I like the frameless lens, but I really wish it had better control on the arm movement. When I'm trying to solder an SMT component, the last thing I need is the frustration of having to move my work or the light.

I’ve searched for the perfect magnifying lamp for several years and didn’t want to shell out the dough for a craft store quality lamp. The best are around 200.00 at a hobby store. Instead, I’ve been through about 5 of the small, cheapy desktop kind with regrets about each one.I make miniatures in precise scales and the detail is very important to make the items appear lifelike. I decided to stop wasting money on garbage and I sprung for this baby.These are my observations.PROS:- excellent size lens- clear, unobstructed view of my work- very brilliant bright white task lights- cleverly designed with the protective lens cover and finger grips at sides of lens- simple old fashioned tension clamp keeps the base where you put it- it is superior to any other task magnifying light I’ve owned - bigger, heavier, brighter, clearer- mostly made of metal with a decent plastic cover- when adjusted correctly it is amazing- lens arrived without scratches- the original (thin and ridiculous) box was damaged but fortunately this was inside another thicker box which is likely why it arrived intactCONS:- arms are LONG and awkward - difficult to position easily- initial placement on my desk was challenging because the arms get in the way- old school spring loaded tension type movement is finicky and somewhat unpredictable - snaps back unexpectedly- your best bet is to put it in a spot where you won’t need to move it much - if I move to the lamp instead of bringing it to me I don’t get as frustrated with it- lens is made of thick acrylic / plastic - not glass - which has me concerned that it may scratch easily- power cord is only 3 feet longI really hope I can get used to the size and placement issues because it functions beautifully as a stationary magnifying lamp - moving it about is cumbersome and can be irritating.I can’t decide if it deserves 4 stars or 3. More like 3.5. After the next project I’ll either love it or hate it. I kind of wish I had opted for a wheeled floor model instead.

Love the lamp with 2 exceptions. It was shipped in the product box (thin cardboard ) with too little protection inside. When I opened it I had to reassemble the part that attaches the head to the upper arm which had come apart during shipping. This is not an inexpensive purchase the company would do well to improve the way it is packed and shipped. I also think it would be a better lamp if you were able to "lock" the lower arm in an upright position to provide support for the rather heavy lamp head. When I want to pull it over to my easel the weight of the head pulls the lower arm down too. It has springs inside so you can play with it and adjust it to your particular needs though so not a deal breaker. All in all I do like it and look forward to starting my next painting. The company was also quick to respond to an email I sent them regarding the best way to clean the lens (they recommend glass cleaner and paper towels OR just use a soft eyeglass cloth ) and offered some help with my questions about the arm. I just got it but so far I'm glad I bought it so just one star off for the packaging and shipping.

I am an esthetician, so lighting and magnification are very important to my work. I had to replace my mag lamp. This light was suggested to me. I was a little apprehensive but knew and respected the source and read the reviews! I am adding to those 5 star ratings and thanked my friend as this light has been a real find. The quality and value of the light far exceeds it's price!!! You won't be disappointed!Mary

I really love this magnifying lamp. Unfortunately, I had to return it. My desk is 80” long and 30” deep, the desk is placed in the corner of the room and it raises and lowers. The problem was the lamp would not reach to my work area from the open side. I tried everything I could to get the lamp in a position that it would for me but the position and size of my desk made it impossible. This magnifying lamp is awesome and I do highly recommend it. It is very nice looking, has perfect magnification and is very well built. If I can figure out a way to make it work for me I will buy it again.I do not write a lot of reviews but I really felt bad that I had to send it back and wanted you to know that it is a great magnifying lamp. So, do not hesitate buying this lamp.

My husband loves this light. Without the table mount the arm fit perfectly into the built in mount on his scroll saw. The large glass works well for him - bigger area than his previous round lens.Stopped working after about 4 weeks, so Honor Trading sent a new one but no power supply. Turns out it's the power supply that's bad so now we're waiting for the 12 volt power supply to arrive. Honor Trading has been good about shipping, although packaging could be better.

I love the light. Disappointed in the impurities in the lens. Still a great buy and would recommend. The company just read my review, contacted me and shipped me a replacement. Definitely gonna buy a second on from them. When the level of commitment from the company is awesome
