The Authentics: A Lush Dive into the Substance of Style

GORGEOUS book! I hesitated initially because of some negative reviews, and also because I have so many coffee table books, but I am happy I bought it. It is absolutely beautiful, inspiring, and also a good read. In fact, I appreciate that the reading portions are not too lengthy. If you want to read a biography on the subjects that's another story, but you can get a good idea of who they are and their style and personalities.I have always loved Dara Caponigro, and followed her work on multiple magazines, so I was not disappointed she produced such amazing book, with stunning pictures by Melanie Acevedo. By the way, it is larger than I realized.

It is impressive to see and read about those few who stand out, as unique and talented individuals, in our world of the "masses".Peoples' whose success is not interpreted by their financial success, but their talent. Refreshing!

I really like this book but something is missing. The book doesn’t totally succeed as an interiors book or a book about intriguing people. I wanted so much for it to do both but in trying to do that the whole effort was a little diluted. Special praise for the short interview of Michael Bastien who offers a reminder about simple things you Long for living in New York... having laundry inside your apartment, etc. I thought his remarks in the book were lovely and a reminder that people who live in “perfect” homes still have imperfect lives; that’s just life. It was sweet. The casual photos of Miles Redd are A+. Great to see him in a new light.
