Great product for my anxious cat
These tablets really help my cat when I go off on holidays and he goes on a holiday to his grans house. With the tablets, he Is cool calm and collected and has no issue being transported in his carrier, in the car on a 20 minute journey. Without them, he stresses, eyes wide and ears red. These are a god send. Wouldn’t use long term, but giving him them the week in advance before the trip, massively helps!

Expensive
Our elderly rescue came with these pills being anxious after spending a year in kennels before coming with us. Little did everyone know that she had started with dog dementia. I believe these pills work well for a healthy dog that needs support when anxious traveling or during fireworks, Millie however needed a different type of drug for her troubles. I do think they are very expensive and can't help but fell we are being charged dog tax.

Game changer
This has been a game changer for my anxious dog who barks every time she hears a noise or sees ANYTHING out of the window. It took a week or two to kick in but she was so much calmer. I was unsure if this was definitely the reason for the change but we ran out of these at one point and so she was off them for a few days and the pacing and barking and anxious behaviour all came flooding back almost straight away so we definitely know this has made a difference. It also seems to have improved recall as she’s not constantly on high alert when we go out for walks. It’s an expensive medication to take every day though. I’m not sure if we will keep her on it long term but it seems to be a good tool to help her focus whilst we find other ways to both train her and reduce her anxiety.

Not very effective
Tried these with my dog who has anxiety in evenings unless sleeping in with me. Don't see any real difference after using them for a few weeks.

Fast acting, great for temporary use.
Brought this product to see if it’d help my springer spaniel’s anxiety during the new year with all the fireworks going off, seemed to work a bit but I wasn’t officially sold on it until workmen came to replace our windows today, my boy was getting very stressed, having difficulties with his breathing and I was getting really concerned but then I remembered I had some of these left so I gave him one, they kicked in pretty quickly, he’s no longer barking his head off, was able to go out and pee, is breathing normally and cuddling up with my younger brother for his regular nap even with all the noise and chaos. They’re not a permanent solution for anxiety but work amazing in unplanned noisy situations such as this. I would definitely recommend!

A superb treatement that really works
Had a problem with a highly strung cat that was over-grooming leading to loss of his coat, quite apart from other forms of bad behaviour. Zylkene really did the job and within a short time of starting treatment things improved. My vet totally approved of the treatment and advised that these tablets are a form of natural substance, not drugs, and if necessary could be taken for life. After an initial period of daily treatment the cat was happy enough to be kept on a reducing dosage, every other day, then every third then discontinued, though at times have had to restart treatment for a while to calm down particular stresses. And the very best bit - he actually LIKES them!!! Very expensive admittedly but they work and his happiness is worth more than just money.

Use with caution...Zylkene is not suitable for all cats
We have a 13 year old small, female cat (4kg). She is healthy, not on any medication and has no known allergies, to include milk or lactose. We are due to take our cat on a 2-hour car journey, and after seeking advice from vet we bought Zylkene directly from Amazon, expiry date 10/2024.She appears to have had an adverse reaction to this supplement. We tried Zyklene twice, 12+ hours apart. Being a small cat, we gave her half a capsule in her usual wet food. We noticed a difference in our cat within an hour of her taking it. We believe this made her feel nauseous. The first time she had it, she vomited (to include grass), her pupils and gaze changed and generally she appeared nauseous (crouching posture). The second time, her body language and behaviour changed dramatically and she was not herself at all (we’ve had her for 10+ years and know her well). She stopped vocalising with us (she is usually very chatty), she didn’t want any form of affection from us and just wanted to be left alone, and appeared very miserable/unwell. This could only have been due to the Zylkene, as there had been no other change in her diet.Another reviewer here on Amazon (also giving a one star rating) has reported similar side effects with his cat repeatedly vomiting. If this or other symptoms I've described above has happened to your pet, please contact the manufacturers, Vetoquinol, as currently there is nothing on their packaging to suggest any side effects at all.My advice is to use with caution. It had no positive benefit for our cat.
