MSR Windburner cooking pot
I bought the MSR WindBurner Sauce Pot (Non-Stick, Grey) for use on trekking, camping, and hiking trips and and it has had lots of use. The thing that stands out first is how efficiently it heats. It is quick and The WindBurner system really does live up to its name, even in windy conditions this pot heats water and sauces quickly and with minimal fuel use. That’s a big advantage when you’re trying to conserve fuel on longer trips. The non-stick coating is surprisingly durable and makes cleaning it really easy. After cooking pasta, sauces, or soups, a quick wipe with a sponge gets it ready for the next meal. It also means you don’t need to use too much water to clean it, which is great when water is limited. Its capacity is great for small groups of 2 to 3 people, although I have used it on my own. The lid seals well and it is well made and quite rugged. Pros: Heats food / sauces very quickly and efficiently, even in wind Non-stick coating makes cooking and cleaning very easy Great capacity for small groups Solid build quality that feels made to last Cons: Slightly higher price than other pots Non-stick coating requires some care (don’t use metal utensils) Can only really be used with MSR Windburner stove This is a top-tier cooking pot for backpacking and camping. If you want something that cooks well, uses fuel efficiently, and cleans up without hassle, this is highly recommended.
