Now, I don't even remember how I discovered Chalkfulloflove... but Sarah is super endearing, I follow her on instagram and own a Stars Hollow Fall Festival sweatshirt and now I bought this book... so I'm in deep guys. I love how many different lettering styles there are in the book and the design and project sections are nice additions. I have done some self taught brush lettering (also with some practice sheets I found online) previously and I learned traditional kind of unadorned calligraphy when I was in elementary school so I have some basic skills (emphasis on basic lol.) But because of this previous experience I skipped 101 and went straight to 201, just FYI. The book came wrapped in plastic and was pristine, the paper felt really nice and on the whole it looked lovely. There are plenty of places to practice lettering directly in the book (although I personally prefer to use scratch paper) and multiple different styles to practice. I have started tracing the letters to practice first so that I get a feel for the strokes. I attached a photo of my lettering from holiday cards this year from before I got the book. I'll try to remember to update after I get to practice the different styles (I've only practiced the hillary style style so far which I included a picture of :) She has included some ideas for spiffing up your envelopes, making greeting cards, place cards, and gift-y things also! But really, the nice thing about this skill is pretty writing improves all the things. So yeah! I would recommend the book for anyone wishing to expand their repertoire, mix up their current lettering situation, and also get some cute little ideas for using their newfound skills as well :)
