Wonderful book for sewing. Brilliant information for the beginner and experienced sewist. Well put together clear pictures and well explained. Comes with a pattern to use the tips learnt in the book. I can’t rate highly enough!

I must admit, I have not had a chance to look at this yet but by all accounts and from seeing comments on Facebook groups, this is an excellent book.All I've managed to do is have a quick flick through it and it looks like it will be very helpful for my sewing journey.The book is top quality to and has patterns at the back to help build your own fitting block to sew perfect clothes.I am sure that when I get around to sitting down and going through the book, I'll be a master of dressmaking.

Great book, well written. I'm a beginner

I found the beginning to be good but then after making my first toile I had exceedingly large darts and the book suggested moving them to the side. The instructions were then less clear and I was only able to follow as I have previous experience of making full bust adjustments. I think this book is not aimed at curvy bodies but it is informative.

I’m only half way through reading this book but can’t wait to finish it and try making my first sewing pattern. It’s highly recommended on a FB sewing group I’m on and the results look fantastic. I’ve sewn for many years but I’m still picking up tips on dressmaking.

A great book and there is a Facebook group and YouTbe feed to accompany it. I’m not sure I will make the dresses contained in the book but it’s great for getting to the point of having a well fitting block. Fitting is not easy so be warned that even with excellent support like this it may take a range of adjustments to get the perfect fit. Once you have it you can make anything fit well so it’s worth the initial effort

A beautiful hard back book with clear information and instructions plus lots of photos. Firstly, you make a bespoke pattern and well fitting toile from the full sized pattern blocks provided. Then you should have the ability to produce your own, well fitting patterns for dresses, skirts and tops. Helen also provides help and encouragement from her FB group. I have made a number of garments since completing the toile, all with my patterns I have made myself . I would highly recommend the book for both new and more accomplished dressmakers.
