BougeRV 23qt review at 10 months
It has been close to a year since I purchased this Fridge, and I want to leave my honest review.I’ve been using the BougeRV 23qt since July 2024 for my Jeep Gladiator, and I can confidently say it has exceeded all expectations. I currently have a 50qt ARB fridge that I use on my off-road teardrop trailer. Comparing to this one to the ARB which is much more expensive, this compact fridge performs extremely well above its weight in performance, reliability, and value.**Cooling Performance:**This fridge cools down *fast*—within 15 to 20 minutes, it's already well below refrigeration temps. It consistently maintains temperature even in hotter climates and inside a warm car, which is more than I can say living in AZ, especially during the brutal summer months. I set the average temperature at 25 degrees and have no problems keeping it at that level daily. I have set the temperature at -5 degrees on a few occasions, and it has had no issues at all.**Efficiency:**What really surprised me is how energy-efficient it is. It draws very little power, making it perfect for my overlanding setup and road trips. I've run it for days off a small power station without worry. When the Jeep is not on the go, I have it plugged into my Jackery 500, setting the fridge at 25 degrees and using it constantly for a 6-8 hour period. It only consumed about 40% of the battery life.**Build Quality:**The unit is solidly built and better than I expected. The handle could be made deeper and I can see someone with much larger fingers having difficulty with it when lifting the fridge. The digital controls are intuitive and easy to use, and the LED display is clear even in bright light. It doesn't feel cheap at all—despite being significantly more affordable than top-tier brands.**Noise Level:**Very quiet. You’ll barely hear it running, which is a big plus if you’re sleeping in your vehicle or nearby.**Portability:**At 23 quarts, it's the perfect size for solo travel or weekend getaways. It holds more than you think, and the compact design means it fits easily in the backseat or trunk.**Final Thoughts:**The BougeRV 23Qt car fridge has worked tremendously well for my needs. It’s rare to find a product at this price point that can genuinely outperform some of the more expensive competition. Whether you're new to car camping or just looking for a reliable backup, this fridge is a smart buy and I highly recommend it.**The only areas of improvement that I can see are a drain when cleaning/washing, like my ARB fridge, and deeper handles that allow a better grip.

Great budget option!
This fridge beat my expectations. I initially talked myself into going with a cheaper 12v fridge vs a Dometic or Iceco because I was unsure that it would be for me. Even though it is a "cheaper" fridge it performs surprisingly well. It draws less power than I expected, kept temperature very well while not running and had decent volume. I attached pictures of this fridge with a 2L both horizontal and vertical in the fridge to show just how much volume it has. I probably will not use the provided divider unless it is for organization sake. In my testing it took about 20 minutes to go from 67F to 36F while on max mode. Max mode drew about 45watts average and eco was around 33 watts. This paired with my new Bluettie AC180P seems like it will get me through weekend camping trips. Wonderful fridge and I am very pleased with my purchase.

This BougeRV fridge has exceeded expectations and become an everyday essential
This BougeRV fridge has exceeded expectations and become an everyday essential. I’ve used it on camping trips, visits to amusement parks, grocery runs, and even just for keeping leftovers cool after dinner—it’s that convenient. It fits perfectly under the subtrunk of my Tesla Model Y, and with a bit of spacing for airflow, it performs smoothly even in summer heat. The fridge holds a consistent temperature and cools rapidly, just as advertised. What really sealed the deal is how much my wife loves it—she now takes my car specifically for the fridge. After several months of use, I’ve had zero issues. It’s quiet, efficient, and reliable. If you're looking for a portable fridge that truly delivers, this one’s a no-brainer.

A very reliable versatile portable electric cooler/freezer
We purchased this cooler for our RV for a long trip, since we needed extra freezer space. The inside is not tall enough for some liter bottles, etc, so will have to lay those down.We ran this cooler for 6 weeks straight, only unplugging to move around the camper. It performed like a champ.Since the outer shell is susceptible to scratches and dings, we also had purchased the padded travel cover.I highly recommend adding the padded cover, since it not only protects the cooler's outside, but also does a great job helping to insulate it and keep the temps steady. The cover has opening for the vents and allows easy access to the controls without removing. The case also has pockets to store the cords and instructions and more items. Easy to remove and access the lid.The temp would vary just a few degrees at times, which I expected. The compressor and fans are very quiet. We used this as a freezer at first (set to 0 degrees) and later used as a refrigerator (at 38 degrees). When used as a freezer, some ice did form inside, but not very much.We also used the cooler in ECO mode 90% of the time and it held temps great. We only had to put on MAX when we added items that were not already cold. This cooler will not retain temp very long if unplugged, so keep that in mind. You can also get an optional battery to power it if needed, which is a great feature.
