Q: Are the washers plastic or rubber

They are a hard plastic and they dont break.

Q: how do i remove the nuts from the long screw,i cannot find a "key" 13mm to get them off i have used wd40 but cannot buy a key anywhere

The way i removed my old was with mole grips. They were plastic like the ones in the kit. If you mean removing the bolts from the seat hinge i used mole grips for that as well. Very useful tool mole grips!. Hope this helps

Q: Are the screw thread 6mm bolts made in stainless steel if not please state what they are made of as the existing ones are heavily corroded.

I have replaced two pairs of toilet seat hinge bolts recently; one was plastic, the other stainless steel. Both, so far, are satisfactory. If you are worried about corrosion, why not use the plastic ones ? I found them perfectly satisfactory. Good Luck ! Jim.
