Dualit UK-made toasters really are the only toasters worth buying
These toasters are simply the best. All parts replacable and easily obtainable and thus it should be the only toaster you need to buy in your life unless you have more than one home.

Shocked
I bought this after getting sick of mid level toasters. Spending 50 quid on a decent toaster only for it to brun toast one time and only make hot bread another... I was tired and thought I'd put down the 200+ and buy for life, these are Dualit right? They are meant to be one of if not the best.I am so disappointed with the purchase. Yeah, it is reliable in terms the output but hell, you can't even fit in a normal size slice of bread in! (Height wise) £200 for a toaster and it doesn't even accept Warburtons standard issue white??? COME ON!As for the build quality, it's ok, ish but for 200? trash. The crumb tray doesn't come out smoothly, it needs to be jiggled as the screws they use are too long and they extend out the other side! The crumb tray itself is also way to thin. Maybe this is a legal/fire reason but it's still rubbish. As for toasting, it is pretty good for 6 slices but if you use either the 2 and the 4 setting, it burns the bread furthest right and requires flipping halfway through. I know it's for a catering environment that maybe uses setting 6 most of the time but I think maybe a little insulation would solve this issue.I do think this is a toaster for life though, it does look pretty easy to repair. The high lift lever is good (I am a fan of manual pop up) but could do with being a little more 'high' on the high lift.It really could do with a cancel button if you want to cease toasting before the timer has finished. I guess you could do this on the socket but it's not quite the same. There are other little niggles with it too which are of just bad design. It does look good though.I am being very critical, but I think I am justified.Since then, I have bought a student flat in Glasgow and kitted it out with cheap stuff. The £10 quid 2 slot Tesco toaster I bought makes the best toast I have ever had AND once more, it fit Warburtons standard issue white! As much as I am pleased I have now found the toaster for me, the fact that this was a tenner just rubs salt in the wound. It is better than most of the toasters I have used but is just no where near as good as it should be. In my humble opinion if i am spending 200+ on a toaster, I should be able to walk away with full height evely toasted bread think, damn, that's a nice toaster.I like what the design is going for, it just needs to be better.Rant over

Good but...
This toaster looks good, has a nice layout and of course has good capacity. You do have to get used to the lever to lower and raise your bread/toast however it is a good design and lifts the toast well for easy access. It does also cook the toast quickly and evenly.Unfortunately the timer control lets it down (not a faulty unit but a problem with the design):- It has a lot of play in it making it difficult to set accurately.- Anything above 2.5 makes toast very dark for medium sliced - I cant really see why there's any setting above that as it's basically charcoal.- The above means there's only a short range on the dial that's actually used - making it harder to be accurate.- Because the duration of the cooking is set in order to activate the toaster you have to set it every time and therefore get variable results.- The difference in brown-ness between first and second batch is significant meaning you have to compensate. My previous (relatively) cheap 4 slice unit had a brown-ness selector independent of the activation and gave very consistent results even if not quite so elegant looking or evenly cooked.I will continue to use this toaster due to the extra capacity and other redeeming features. However I believe a unit of this price should have a better designed timing control and would urge people consider the design of the timer before going ahead and purchasing...

Twelves years old and working beautifully
This toaster has been used every day for the last 12 years and is going strong and with a good clean looking almost as good as when I bought it. Truly a toaster for life and a style that surpasses every passing fashion.

Looks and build quality are very good, Lets hope "John" did a good job
Never thought I'd spend £200 something as basic as a toaster. Looks and build quality are very good, Lets hope "John" did a good job. Everything about this toaster shouts quality. the timer has a nice resistance / wind, with a built in reset fuse. Cant comment on use as this is just first impressions so need to bed it in a little. I will say open the window on first use to burn of the factory coating on the elements as it set my fire alarm off and it smells a bit... Overall though if you want a quality product I have no doubt this is worth every penny.

Not impressed......
Was so disappointed when the toaster arrived, not only was it damaged (toast wouldn't pop up or down properly) but what was described as a 'polished' finish, looked dull and tin like, not at all what was expected, in fact we wondered if it could possibly be a 'fake!' It was returned to Amazon and we purchased the 4 slot size from another supplier, that arrived in full working order and had a proper polished finish.

Excellent but please read full review
Warehouse deal, saving £100, so excellent price, however, a little more damage than was described. Crumb tray is bent & the left handle missing making clean up a a tad fiddly. That said, when you account for the saving, this can be fixed & doesn’t affect the actual toaster s despite this I have still given 5 🌟 as this is the best toaster ever for a large household. Practice your preferred timings first as this toasts incredibly quick. As with all dualit products this will last for years.
