How heavy is the item?

The hammer is a light weight one. The other tools are standard qweight so a few pounds. Say 5 lbs for the kit. I can carry it around without a thought. I had a heart attack last March and I have not found it heavy to carry. If you are using it at home you only remove what you need. If the spanner is heavy do not buy the set. You will not undo anything if you are that infirm. Just an honest answer. I could not do much for a couple of months after my heart attack. I improved within four months. If that helps.

Is this tool set of good quality?

Is is good enough for almost anything you may need it to do. However the spanners are not flank drive as per Snap -On spanners. So rounded nuts will be aproblem as this set works like most others on the flats as long as they are not rounded. Snap on are several times more expensive so most people do not buy them unless they work with older cars etc regularly which can have lots of rounded nuts on them. The fact that the tool case will not rust, is tough and keeps everything in its place is a Godsend. You can grab the box and go. The tools are of a quality Teng tools were at 30 years ago. My teng tools are still being used but the metal box has rusted and died over 15 years ago. Three bags later I still have the teng tools and they are working fine. I also have a couple of Snap- On spanners for rounded nuts. Since the metric era I have only bought a few spanners as manufacturers have used 10 and 13 mm nuts as standard for most of the things that need to be changed over time. This tool kit is excelolent value and the finish of the tools is fine. I can recommend it for everyday stuff. It is also compact enoughto fit into a cupboard or draw in the kitchen. In case that's how you roll. :-)

Are there any magnetic bits?

Yes there is a magnet inside the screwdriver and the bits connect to it !
