This is the best supplement I have ever bought. After being rushed to hospital with autoimmune atrophic gastritis I have spent the last two months trying to recover by abandoning omeprazole (Proton pump inhibitor) as I discovered my stomach acid is low not high through the bicarb test. I started taking Oxford Vitality grape seed extract tablets which are high in OPCs on October 30th. A week later I did a double take at the mirror as my eyes looked brighter, then my skin regained it's lost lustre, energy returned by 11 November, my oesophageal reflux stopped at night plaguing my sleep and my extremities have warmed up! I am not dreading eating and the effects of slow digestion now. My theory is that the grape seed extract has increased blood flow to my stomach and is speeding up the slow digestion. It's a remarkable good quality extract which has given me a zest for life I didn't think would return. Some interesting research is being carried out on this wonderful substance. Bought at £23 for 500 tabs - they were good value and are easy enough to take. No ill effects, I'll leave you to decide on efficacy from the research on GSE and health impacts. I find the products form this company to be well made and have also bought direct with no issues.

There are many claimed benefits for grape seed extract for which I read up on the clinical evidence. I bought this for two reasons firstly as an anti-oxidant there are claims that it is 20 times more effective than vitamin E and 50 times more effective than vitamin C. Both these vitamins can have a negative effect or interaction with other medicines/herbs/amino acids. Secondly, to help reduce my blood pressure for which a clinical trial has reported a significant decrease in systolic BP after 12 weeks. It works by improving nitric oxide levels in the body to relax the blood vessels for lowering BP and some recommend taking it with citrulline or citrulline malate.This is a much higher dose than that used in clinical trials and as with any medicine of any description, there are side effects. Too much nitric oxide is not a good thing and people should monitor their BP and gradually increase the dose to prevent a sudden drop. This is also an anticoagulant and can interact with blood-thinning medication. I take other supplements that are also blood thinner’s so I take 200 micrograms of vitamin K2 to compensate. There are conflicting claims that nitric oxide is good or bad for arthritis. I will try it and see how it goes.

High doses of grape seed extract can inhibit iron absorption. I took these for two years and the doctor diagnosed me with ANAEMIA (low iron levels & red blood cell count) and I cannot seem to reverse it. BE CAREFUL TAKING THESE. Bless you

This is a regular purchase for me and I am thrilled with the results. My digestive system has improved and the instances of Candida is significantly reduced and now under control. Very pleased with this product and will continue to use as prescribed medicines,had no affect in reducing the incidents of recurring infections and digestive problems.
