no more worries about dropping the guitar
My Taylor has a really short end pin and I could never get straps to stay on. I like Dunlop rubber strap locks but couldnt get one to go on the Taylor. Then I saw this device and all my troubles were over. It fits perfectly and hold the strap safely and securely. Brilliant device

Good but Flawed
I bought a top of the range Seagull guitar and a lovely Levy's strap to match it but was horrified to find that the strap will not fit on the strap button/jack socket. Levy's leather is unyielding so I was glad to find this gadget, It does work but I think it has two shortcomings. Firstly, using tie cords to secure it to the strap never feels really secure and it certainly looks untidy. You won't have failed to notice that this is not a cheap device so I'm at a bit of a loss to know why they didn't use a button to secure the strap to it. Secondly, it is of course, mostly plastic and therefore unyielding. No matter what d'Addario say, it will come into contact with your guitar. There are very small strips of exceedingly thin rubber to "protect" your instrument but you are still going to hear the uncomfortable sound of plastic rubbing on wood. I am resolved to attach my strap only when really necessary and definitely not to keep it on within the confines of the guitar case. Potential purchasers might like to know that my Planet Waves "Dragons" strap (made, with great irony, by d'Addario!) fits the guitar without this device. Its leather is much more supple and its holes somewhat larger than on the Levy. Overall the Cinchfit is very good but with more thought could have been even better. It could also do with being cheaper!

Guitar strap adapter
The adapter for my Taylor guitar worked a treat. The universal type didn’t fit properly to my fishman input, however I can use it and it’s a solution.

Doesn’t fit Epiphone
This is a really good idea if it fits your guitar. Unfortunately the fitting doesn’t fully engage around the Fishman jack strap button of my Epiphone Inspired By Gibson EJ200. Bought this thinking it would be a universal fit as it mentions it’s designed for Fishman jacks. Not the case

If your guitar strap doesn’t fit comfortably over your jack socket, then this could be your fix
Works perfectly. Previously I had issues with having to basically re-pull the strap over the jack hole every time I wanted to plug in. It was fine when I was playing, because I knew the quirks of my guitar, but it meant at times that the strap would unseat the jack and cause an inconsistent connection. This was particularly evident when others borrowed my guitar and I had to explain the quirk to them. This item solves the issue. Check you are happy with the friction point with your guitar, but I haven’t had an issue, and also make sure you check what sort of jack socket you have as reading reviews some have come out disappointed with the results.I checked and it fit well and I am very pleased with the results.Solid product.

An acceptable solution to a difficult problem
The problem is that the output socket housing on Gibson electro-acoustics is too fat to take a normal strap buttonhole (even Gibson's own pricey Montana strap), and this item seems to do the job. It's not perfect, but better than I was expecting. I was concerned initially that the magnetic fastener wouldn't be strong enough to stop the strap pulling free, but so far it has worked without a hitch. And while I find attaching it a little bit fiddly, it's no worse than most of the other strap locking devices I've used. The worst aspect is that the fat end of a lovely and expensive guitar is effectively hanging by a length of string looped through the buttonhole of a lovely and expensive strap from the same manufacturer. This is only so-so aesthetically, and in my case the extra length means that the strap itself is on its shortest setting with an untidy tail sticking down. These are minor quibbles, however, especially as the problem is was seems to me to be a design flaw by Gibson themselves.N.B. The device is made in two sizes to suit Gibson and Taylor furniture - make sure you order the correct size.

Cinch-Fit for Taylor K14ce
I purchased this in order to attach a quality leather Taylor strap to a Taylor V-brace Builder's Edition K14ce guitar with Expression system pre-amp - there was no way the Taylor strap would fit my Taylor guitar as the leather was much too thick! OK - the main thing is that it works, and is a reasonable and secure solution (assuming you can tie a decent knot in the cord). However; it's a shame the cord wasn't a little longer to allow for a slightly more creative and aesthetically more pleasing tie-up. I tried doubling up as suggested by another reviewer but found the cord too short and didn't allow for sufficient movement of the sliding rubber tab that keeps the lock snug on the end-pin jack socket. I settled on a method whereby the knot sits in the strap's end-hole with the two cord ends pushed through the slit (see photos). Doing it this way stops the knot rubbing on the guitar body, and also allows the strap to sit comfortably flush with the body so the clamp can rotate freely. So far I haven't managed to attach or detach the clamp one-handed, and I think it might not be wise to try - safety first is my choice with this guitar......

Doesn’t fit a Taylor GS acoustic guitar
It’s just plastic, so not a quality feel. The design looks ok and I’m sure it works when it fits. However, it doesn’t fit my guitar, so is useless to me.I could not find out which guitars this would fit, so have done this review so future purchasers know it won’t fit mine
