I have hip dips so I got this to hide them. It’s not as seamless as I would like but for the price it’s great. It makes the hip look slightly larger so I wouldn't wear it with pants, with dresses it looks fine though. It might also look a little bit obvious depending on the material of the item you are wearing, so if the material is thin or not very structured for example the padding area will look a lot bit extruded than the rest of the short.My size is usually S/XS. I got the M as its the smallest size and it fit OK although a little tight, but honestly all shape-wear is supposed to be tight/uncomfortable.
