PopeilPasta Maker by Ronco PS9012 Electric Cookware

not whaat i expected

Interesting machine, looked well built, sturdy and easy to clean. Video that came with it explains everything in detail. Unfortunately right out of an undamaged box -- the lid, mixing bin and face plate (all clear plastic) had multiple cracks that penetrated both sides around all holes. It was my assumption that under the strain of use these cracks would only worsen and render the unit un-useable (except as a paperweight). Immediately sent for new parts and after waiting over 30 days the replacements were also cracked in the same locations and the mixing bin was of a different model and would not fit the motor base. Popeil does not answer e-mails or faxes, but did have luck on the phone in getting through. They wanted to send a new motor base and all new plastic parts again, but could not guarantee them to be free of manufacturing defects. In disgust, I was given a full refund and sent it back postage pre-paid to the seller -- who admitted that this item has had problems. Still want a pasta maker and there are several available such as Simax MX-700, but do not want to go through the hassle again with a defective product such as the Popeil unit.

The first time I used it (of course it was after the expiration for returning it) it started squealing and making horrible noises. I don’t think it’ll last more than once or twice and use

this is my SECOND pasta maker and I love it the first one is on its last legs and Im so glad I found this one just wish I could find a few more dies for it like the bagel one... The first one is like I think over 20 years old or close to it great old machine now to find a vcr to watch video again lol ....IF ANYONE HAS BAGEL DIES PLEASE LET ME KNOW or if they know where to get them.

Product came dirty with dried food on it. Face plate had small cracks in it. Not used in great condition like indicated.

You will love this for the price. We make pasta all the time - 100% great.. Make sure you have your moisture right so the pasta flows thru the dies properly . that is with any pasta maker.. GREAT

To the people that say it's more trouble than its worth, you're wrong! Get creative with your pastas and add spices to the mix. This makes GREAT pasta that you can just use spray butter on.I am editing my review. The first couple of lines were when I was happy with the product. Bought it as a gift, used for the first time on Jan 19, my husbands birthday, and it broke on my anniversary, June 6. I was so disappointed! If I had only spent $30 on it, it would be one thing. But this was just an overpriced piece of junk, used (and enjoyed) maybe 10 times.
