Clear display and useful features
The Gellvann Digital Fridge/Freezer Thermometer isn't the most accurate thermometer I've tried, especially in the freezer. I put it up against 2 others, both of which I know are more accurate, and it was about 1-2 degrees out, but that's not a huge amount if you're just using this at home. However, that said it's still useful and did help me to realise my fridge wasn't working back before the other thermometers were around, so that's a good enough reason to get one.The display is clear and easy to read, though I would have preferred the core temperature to be at the top and the min and max to be smaller at the bottom as your eye is automatically drawn to the top of the screen. It's got a stand so it can sit on a glass shelf, something some of the others don't have. It also has a long wire so you can place the sensor in one spot and the display in another, that's pretty handy in itself.Despite my saying it's not as accurate as others, it's still good enough for general home use in order to tell if a fridge or freezer is cold enough and I do like the design of this one.

Adequately accurate
I wanted to monitor outside air temperature to decide what level of clothing I'd need for winter cycle club rides. I checked the inside and outside temperature readings against an accurate thermometer and they were both within 1 degree C of the actual temperature. That is quite acceptable for me for a budget device. I haven't made use of the other functions as that's not what I wanted it for, however, I do find the smiley face on the display when the weather is good rather tedious and pointless.

Easy to read. Feel like parts missing there's no accessory supplied to fix the probe in place
Firstly, this is easy to power up and easy to set up the read out. The readout itself is clear and bright and not difficult to see.The magnet supplied to hold the thermometer in place is not very large and in fact it sometimes slips if you knock the fridge slightly.Apart from the fact that the magnet could really do with being larger the other issue relates to the probe the probe is attached to a decent length of wire so you can position it in different places in the fridge to suit your wishes however there is no means supplied with the device for fixing the probe in position. I think a stick-on cable clip will probably do the trick but none of the ones that we have are small enough so this is presented more of a challenge than you might think and as a consequence we're not using the thermometer at the moment because the cable and probe look untidy.

Not exactly accurate, but good enough.
This is a nice little indoor/outdoor thermometer package, but seems to be a tad inaccurate. The unit is quite small but has a stand and the magnet on the back also holds it up on a fridge, albeit at an angle if the exterior probe puts any weight on it. It comes with a battery (LR44), which is activated by removing the rear cover and taking it from its hole and putting in the space next to it.The display is big and easy to read, showing indoor temperature and humidity, plus outdoor temperature below. Pressing the MAX/MIN button cycles through the max and min for both indoor and out, and is easily reset by pressing the CLEAR button (you can do max or min separately). The frost alert is activated by pressing the FREEZE ALT button for a few seconds, and it will beep when it goes below 4C.I'm knocking one star off because the exterior probe just didn't want to match the one inside the unit. Leaving it for an hour in a warm room, you can see the three different readings ranging from 3C out to almost accurate. They never got within 0.2C but often fluctuated 1 or 2 degrees off for no reason. This could be an old battery, but the display has good contrast. I think it's like anything at this price point, for indication only.

Stopped working!
Nice small size, not a very long outside temp.lead. But died after 2 months!

Easy to read and matches other thermometers
The Gellvann thermometer is a fairly standard indoor outdoor thermometer that shows the inside temperature from the main unit and then the outdoor from an external probe. Unlike many similar thermometers though, this external probe is physically connected to the main unit. The cable on the external probe is short which mean this is the biggest downside as it means the main unit needs to be very close to where the external temperature is measured. I have used this as a fridge thermometer and fitted the external probe inside the fridge, running through the seal by the hinge. As the cable is thin, this doesn't stop the fridge from sealing.Accuracy is very good and the readings I get compare to other thermometers I have. The probe is waterproof and shows no signs of wear after being in the fridge for a month.Another problem I have is how to mount the main unit. As it needs to be close to the external location, it can only be mounted in a few places. There are magnets on the back which allow it to be placed in something like the fridge door, but these are not strong enough to stop the external probe from pulling one side down.Overall, it is a good thermometer but is hindered by a couple of design flaws (cable length and weak magnets. If these were modified, I would happily give this 5 stars.
