Easy to use and easy to extend when needed.
Need a bit of getting used to with the action (opening fully releases the cutter) but cut down some Sycamore saplings that had taken residence in the wrong place for house. Cut the trunk with ease and more importantly without a struggle, adjusting the handle length is easy and well thought out. Bought on Prine day price so a bargain. Extends well and feel substantial. Quite heavy but a job to do the anvil cutting action works a treat: good value.Used these pretty much every day since purchase and made life easier as not straining my back. Cleared a strip with several self seeded Rowan trees, and lower branches of mature conifers. Made that task much easier. Ratchet system works well with very little pressure on handles.

The best loppers ever.
Probably the best purchase I've ever made!I had a large hedge that had become overgrown, it had become about 12 ft high, I cut it back down to 6ft using these. It cut through branches like butter, I couldn't believe how strong and tough they are.I love the ratchet mechanism, it takes a lot of the effort of chopping away, and I really enjoyed using them. The handles extend and extending the handles is very easy to use, a simple twist to extend, twist back and they are locked in place. The handles are also very easy to grip. After using them to cut over a hundred individual branches, they still perform like new, so they are durable. They are well worth the price, excellent value for money.

Solid Performance with Some Room for Improvement
I recently purchased the Spear & Jackson 8290RS Razorsharp Advance Heavy Duty Telescopic Ratchet Anvil Lopper, and overall, I'm quite pleased with its performance. The telescopic feature is a standout, allowing me to reach high branches with ease. The build quality is robust, and the ratcheting mechanism adds extra power for cutting through thicker branches. The razor-sharp blade ensures a clean cut, promoting healthier growth for the plants. The handle extension mechanism is smooth, and the lopper feels well-balanced in hand. The grip is comfortable, and the overall design minimizes hand fatigue during extended use. The sturdy build instills confidence in tackling heavy-duty pruning tasks. However, there is a slight room for improvement in terms of the ratchet mechanism. While it generally works well, there were instances where it felt a bit stiff and required more effort than expected. Additionally, the locking mechanism for the telescopic handle could be more secure; I noticed occasional slippage during use.Despite these minor concerns, the Spear & Jackson 8290RS Razorsharp Advance lopper delivers solid performance and represents good value for the price. It has made pruning tasks in my garden more manageable and efficient. With a few tweaks to enhance the ratcheting mechanism and handle locking system, this lopper could easily earn a full 5-star rating. Overall, a reliable tool for heavy-duty pruning needs.

So easy to use. The ratchet mechanism is simple.
These are a brilliant piece of kit. I’d heard people say it cut through wood like butter and never really understand that. My of my I do now. Where I was struggling before with small loppers or awkward saws, these make light work of branches up to inch and half thick. For anyone whose garden is getting out of hand these are the kit for you.

Ease of use Loppers Spear & Jackson 8290RS Razorsharp
The loppers are good, just a couple of times I opened up to far whilst cutting and the jaws open up full again but soon got used to it. Cut through some quiet thick branches with ease. The loppers feel heavy when fully extended but that is because they are solid at the working end. A good tool to have.

Good price, Decent loppers if you need some
Decent. They do the job of cutting up/lopping the bigger branches well.Bought to replace some old Jardin de France telescopic loppers which are past their best.Handle length when fully extended is good and I don't like the twist bits at the bottom of the handle to lock/unlock for extending/retraction so they'll stay at full length for now.

Heavy duty garden loppers
Great garden loppers these are seriously heavy duty with a ratcheting mechanism so it's not as hard for you to cut through thicker branches. The only niggle I had was the handles are extendable and it's not as easy to use fully extended. Would still highly recommend.
