Perfect!
Bought this small pan to add to a set of 3 I bought (after reading reviews on Judge Vista pans, I just had to have them but the smallest pan in the set is 16cm) - the 14 cm pan is plenty big enough for say a chilli for 2 people (just to give you an idea of size). The holes in the lid are a great idea, my cullender has now been made redundant therefore creating space in my cupboard for my new pan. Beware that the heat distribution on the base of these pans is excellent so very little heat needed, I made that mistake by leaving the heat at the level I would for my old pans and burnt a chilli, it stuck to the base of the pan and I thought my pan was ruined, a little soak in soapy water then in the dishwasher - no trace of any burn. Phew! Got away with that one.My next purchase will be the Judge Vista frying pan to complete my collection. I have heard these pans last 25 years plus, I know I am only 6 months in but after the battering my pans have had I can believe it.

The draining is so easy
There's just a possibility this saucepan is a tiny bit thinner so possibly may not last as long as my others? (I might very well be wrong about that). I have given five stars because of the excellent design. I don't like any grease going down my sink, so drain any greasy saucepan liquid into an empty milk bottle. So annoying when it falls over the side! This saucepan design narrowed the pouring area and the fatty liquid poured easily into the bottle with no spillage over the side. This may sound silly, but it's little innovations like these that make chores more of a pleasure. I would, therefore, definitely recommend purchasing this saucepan. Joan

Very good Pan
Looks great, well made, nice feel to it. It's heavier than my other Pan of the same size due in part to the extra Strainer bit on the lid. Works well on my Induction Hob although I notice it takes slightly more power comparatively, probably due to the thicker base. The Strainer is a great idea and very handy. Need to keep an eye on this type of handle though, as it is bolted to a welded bracket rather than bolted through the pan so won't take as much abuse as a bolt through.

Not as good as Meyer but Meyer no longer do a 14cm ...
Not as good as Meyer but Meyer no longer do a 14cm lidded pan. (Mine is 15 years old and still pristine and going strong). However the Judge pan is robust enough, cleans easily with a nylon scourer, although it does require a little more heat on the hob. The 'drainer' feature is a Godsend to my aging mother who can no longer hold the 'strainer' as well as the pan. All in all, a good buy; certainly my mother is pleased with them (2 bought).

Nice saucepan for the price.
Good quality stainless steel. The plastic handle and lid grasp did have obvious seams where moulded but are good enough.

Sticky label on the base of the pan!
If the barcode sticky had not been affixed to the base it would have been perfect! Whose silly idea was it to put the bar code on the base. Luckily I spotted and removed it, what a mess, before it was put on a hot stove!Otherwise it seems fine (it's to be a present so it hasn't actually been used it yet).

Excellent saucepan
This small saucepan exceeded my expectations. Solidly built, beautifully finished, highly versatile and very good value for money. I have been looking for a small saucepan with a pouring lip suitable for a variety of uses, but to no avail. Many of those I have seen, recommended or branded by the so called 'celebrity' chefs, are not worth the price tag attached. This is the perfect complement to my existing cookware and I am sure it will serve me well over the years.Should I need any further pan, the Judge line will be my first port of call.

Why didn't I buy one of these before.
I've been using a 20cm stainless steel pan for a few years which has proved very reliable but as I'm single I wanted a smaller pan. This one is excellent. Very deep for its width it is hard to boil over. The two pouring lips and lid design make draining potato's and veg very easy. There is also a measuring scale marked on the inside in pints and milli liters.Highly recommended.
