Mann FilterC 26 168 Air Filter

Fits a 2003 VW Passat Wagon V6 GLX. Replacement was a bit of a challenge. Access to the clip nearest the engine firewall is difficult. You will need at least a long screw driver and thin hands. Without removing too many connected parts, I was able to lift the cover giving access to the old filter and enough room to vacuum the air intake chamber. Similarly, I highly recommend cleaning the mesh screen and well that catches the larger dirt debris. Use shop rags and Windex to wipe off dirt, grease and grime off the connecting air vents. The filter fits the intake chamber exactly. I'm quite certain my car will be performing better with clean air, free from dirt and debris.

Good buy not a bad product

These filters have been used for years in my VW Passat TDI without any problems. The reason is that Mann has been making filters for VW. Why pay more for the same filter in an OEM box, and not get this one instead?

I found this filter was well made and fit snug...too snug as the orange seal material had to be worked into the housing. I notice my housing has a slight warp in the corner where the problem was but looks like it is normal. Be sure to get it in good all around before clamping the top on.

Works perfect for a 1998 VW Passat 1.8T GLS! Sure beats paying outrageous prices from the dealership or oil change place.

It is well made, does a good job for its purpose, but you should check your measurements closely. My vehicle is an Audi A6, 2004, and this filter was slightly too large on the edges which causes it to seal improperly.

A little snug. Had to really pry down to get the lid to close. But at least I know there won't be any leaks!
