Don’t buy this if you want to scan items. It doesn’t at all. The way the product is listed is very deceiving. It’s a printer that is all.

I have bought one of these to go with an apple laptop for each of my kids for Christmas when they were seniors in high school in preparation to take to college. This is my third one. Both of the two older kids love theirs. It looks good when not in use and is easy to take with you if you need to.

This is hands-down the most infuriatingly dysfunctional machine I've ever owned. I'm on a brand new 2.4ghz router with stable internet. This thing has not once, not ONCE, turned on, successfully been identified by my devices, and just printed a damn job. Every possible error and failure has occurred despite my usage being faithfully reliable. The help documentation is incredibly unhelpful. The HP Smart software is useless at both troubleshooting OR identifying its own devices. The ink dried out after less than 10 pages printed.Printers, in my opinion, are one of those things you need to work correctly every time or it's pointless having one. I've needed to run to Kinko's to get a resume printed because it took several hours on the day of an interview to decide to exist.This machine knows no rhyme or reason. It doesn't fail due to user error, mechanical failure or poor design. It seems to have eggs-for-brains (or chipset, whatever) and is consistently inconsistent in how it responds to keypresses, WPS pairing, etc., given the exact same variables and environment each time.This is the printer you fantasize about taking out back and destroying with a baseball bat.AVOID. Efficient! Takes up minimal space. Hidden in a cover to blend in with decor/ environment. Absolutely love it!

Color copies do not print out properly, as if the brand new ink cartridge that came with the printer is empty.
