Microsoft Q2F-00015 LifeCam Studio Webcam (Retail Packaging), Silver/Black

Quite simply put, if you want a camera that has a quality image, decent wide angle lense and a good mic, then look no further. Great piece of kit that it suitable for both home and business use.

The LifeCam Studio webcam.Pros:1. Neat unit - appears to be well constructed.2. Good base that will sit in different monitors, laptops etc. Being able to mount on a tripod or microphone stand is a useful facility.3. The picture quality is - like many cameras of this type - superior in natural light. In other situations it is good for Internet conversations but not good enough to make quality recordings. (Manual and autofocus are quite slow in lower light conditions.4. Audio is adequate.5. The ability to pan and tilt has some use but is dependent on how far the camera lens is 'zoomed'.Cons:1. The packing box says Windows 10 but when the drivers are downloaded you currently read that not all functions will work.2. The camera does work with Windows 10 OS but the gimmick stuff does not on my PC. (Putting silly animated hats overlays is no interest to me - or most others buying a camera of this type).3. The software allows adjustment of zoom, pan, tilt, focus - but response is slow.4. Software allows the user to change modes e.g. focus and auto focus etc.5. The lens cap us useless and consistently falls off!Thus unit has the potential to be very useful but is let down in a number of areas.I hope my review is useful for those considering purchase.

No review I could come up with would do this webcam justice. Sorry this isn't a technical review:My friends were amazed that they could see every detail, every hair on my head, textures, and even water and juice.My grandmother who lives in the USA and I cooked together via skype and she was delighted that she could really help me out, she could see the consistency of sauce and the texture of the flour - she was even able to tell me I was using the wrong type of flour just by looking at it!!Ok I realise - if you're having a bad hair day or have a few spots on your face this might not be an advantage, but fear not - the webcam's options and colours are superior and allow you to fine tune until you are satisfied with the results.The sound quality is superb! My grandmother said she could finally hear my real voice which was far more pleasant than the robotic or deep voice you get from other webcams. Also, she could hear every sound in great detail - frying, boiling, she could even hear me peeling the potatoes!!! It's the next best thing to being together with people you love. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

Bought this camera for Skype video calls to China. The camera installed very quickly once plugged into the USB port and gives very good video and sound quality.The camera sits neatly on top of my screen. Bit bemused by the thread in the clamp, as no locking nut supplied - obviously for tripod fixing.My only criticism is that the documentation /instructions for use supplied with the camera was very poor, hence my comment about the screw thread - I searched the box for the 'missing' part. A simple description of the camera would have saved me minutes looking for something that was never part of the supply. Having said all of this, I have just ordered another one for my wife's computer, and I have no problems at all in recommending this camera.

I purchased this from Buyur during the lockdown when it seemed the world, its wife and all of its children wanted web cams and, consequently, my first choice webcams (various Logitech models) were sold out everywhere. Since demand for webcams far out stripped supply I also had to pay 80% more for this web cam than its usual Amaxon list price of around £69. That irked a little, but Buyur got it to me very quickly and responded within hours of me raising a query about the deliver address, so I would certainly deal with the seller again.In terms of the product It has an excellent quality feel to it, is study and is easy to use. Don't be fooled by some of the older reviews of this product which crib the need to install drivers. If you have Windows 8.1 or later it is just a case of plug and play. The picture quality is excellent and I have had no problems with the autofocus (although again some of the reviews say that autofocus is a little sluggish). My only small gripes - and they are small - are that the mic does pic up a little background noise on occasion and the picture quality is not great in low lighting conditions. In natural light pr in a well lit environment, however, it is exceptionally good. I would certainly recommend this as a good all round web cam that provides great picture quality - and if you can get it in normal market conditions for its regular price of around £70 it is well worth the money.

The webcam is great when it works. It started misbehaving ac ouple of months back, requiring removal and re-insertion into port. Now it's dead, tried on 2 laptops, this error:Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)A request for the USB device descriptor failed.UPDATE: The replacement started to malfunction after 4 months. Got really hot, lost focus and pixellated / noisy. They are poor quality and I would never recommend them.

The price is good, the delivery was prompt, packaging fine,I am very happy with the product itself as it is by far the best pictureI have ever had by any camera, I use skype a lot, and people have beencommenting about how amazing the picture is, and how they can see objectsin the background, it is like sending the other person HD production quality, whencompared to the cheap web cams they install into laptops.Amazing product, if only everyone had one of these, then we could all enjoy video chatmuch more!!

Webcam di ottima fattura. La clip per agganciare la cam al monitor è flessibile in modo da adattarsi alla perfezione ad ogni superficie. Il video in chiamata è molto fluido (720p) ed il microfono ha un raggio di cattura abbastanza ampio. Inoltre nella confezione sono compresi un otturatore per l'obiettivo ed un raccogli cavo, molto utili a mantenere il cablaggio ordinato e l'obiettivo al sicuro dalla polvere.

Habe mir diese Webcam vor einer Weile geholt, nachdem ich mit einem Freund geskypt hatte, der sie benutzt. Ich war überrascht, denn ich hatte bisher noch kein so klares, helles und flüssiges Bild im Videochat gesehen. Das Bild wird hochauflösend und scharf übertragen, Bewegungen erscheinen natürlich, ohne Artefakte und Geruckel, und auch mit grottenschlechten Lichtverhältnissen wie einer winzigen LED-Beleuchtung kommt sie bestens klar und zeigt dem gegenüber das eigene Bild so, als säße man in normalem Tageslicht. Faszinierend!Auch das eingebaute Mikrofon klingt natürlich und nicht zu leise - ganz so, als säße man seinem Gesprächspartner direkt gegenüber.Der Autofokus hat ab und zu Probleme, wenn man etwas schnell sehr nah vor die Kamera hält oder schnell wieder wegnimmt, aber wenn man die Hand vor die Kamera hält und dann langsam weg bewegt, fängt er sich wieder. Keine große Sache.Die Halterung fand ich auf den Produktfotos etwas verwirrend und dachte, sie wäre klapperig, aber sie ist gummiert und relativ frei beweglich, hält prima am Monitor, am Laptop und frei hinstellen kann man die Kamera damit auch.Das Kabel ist etwas störrisch und die Abdeckung für die Linse ist eine nicht befestigte, aufgesteckte Gummiplatte, die sich leicht im Chaos auf dem Schreibtisch verliert, aber diese beiden Kleinigkeiten haben keinen Einfluss auf den Anwendungsbereich.Nach der Installation lud sich die Kamera ein Firmwareupdate und sucht auch weiterhin regelmäßig nach Updates, diese Art Support kann man bei dem Preis auch erwarten, denke ich. Mit der mitgelieferten Software kann man das Kamerabild verfremden, beispielsweise Masken einblenden, die sich mit dem Gesicht mitbewegen. Auf älteren Rechnern ruckelt das, und über den Sinn kann man auch streiten. Aber hin und wieder ist es ganz lustig, damit rumzuspielen.Alles in allem kann ich für diese Kamera nur eine klare Kaufempfehlung aussprechen, sie ist zwar nicht gerade preiswert, aber unglaublich gut. :)
