what a gem!
I never believed in crystals and still don't believe that wearing them would do much. But this book made me a believer that gems/minerals alter water and make it "healing" water. I started with a few, and now I bought probably 20-25 various gems and use them all the time. The book has alphabetic listing of the gems and their affects on health (both physical and mental health). The book has detailed instructions on several ways of preparing the healing water. Easiest way is to just place them in drinking water bottle, it takes time to start working. The fastest and most effective way is to transfer through clear quartz crystals. Some minerals dissolve, so they can't be placed in water for hours. I feel the difference in taste and in the way my body responds to it. I think it really helps. I have used these crystals for immunity in cold season, weather changes, for stress relief, to detoxify etc. I bought all my crystals on ebay from different countries, they are sold as minerals, rocks, collector specimens. I highly recommend this book to anybody who is into health and alternative remedies.

Curiousity
I purchased this out of curiosity. Although I personally don't have the desire to make gem water, I found the instructions easy to understand and the accompanying information about selection of gems for this purpose to be very thorough. I believe this book was worth the amount for my curiosity, but it is an amazing treasure for anyone who wishes to use gems this way.Update: 6 months later - I decided to use the energy transfer method preparation (easiest one) using three crystals from the reference guide available at back of book for skin improvement. I have been preparing this gem water for about 3 weeks and have noticed amazing improvement in my skin. I have an area of skin that is already healing after a year of no improvement through other methods. I'm so amazed I have updated my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars.

Crystal Gem Water
I really loved this crystal book. I have been doing love water for about 11 years now and i have seen the difference in my health...physically, mentally and emotionally. I have a crystal bottle that was gifted to me and i switch the crystals back and forth and i did notice that when i use Rose Quartz the water is sweeter but reading this book has taken me to another level when it comes to creating Gem water. I am using some of her methods now and love how she describes how to use the gemstones for healing the body. If you Love Crystals and believe in their healing abilities then you will love creating Gem Water for your own personal healing. I recommend this book!

Black & White Photos of Colorful Gems
Do not buy this book unless you enjoy looking at black & white photos of colorful gems. I ordered this thinking that since it had a more recent publish date of 2013 (as opposed to the original 2008 edition) that it would be an updated version with new information with the bonus of larger print. It does have larger print, and also costs about twice as much ($18.99). This "newer" edition has no "Look Inside" option, so you have no way of knowing that all the photos are in black & white. If you look at the "Look Inside" of the 2008 edition you can see that it has full color photos and costs approximately half as much ($10.33). The gem photos in the original 2008 edition are beautiful.

Beware what stones you're using
I found this book really disturbing as it recommends many stones for the direct or boiling method, that are on other lists as toxic. I found this to be the case with at least 5 stones, just skimming the book. I returned it for that reason.

Highly Recommended
We have Gienger's large book: Crystal Power, Crystal Healing, so we appreciate his understanding and experience with stones. This book, written with Joachim Goeblel is excellent. It provides step by step instructions for a variety of methods that one can try. We appreciate the extensive list of stone and stone combinations and how they might be used in elixirs. It is a great was to receive the energy of your stones. Highly Recommended.

Crystal Waters of Energetic Healing.
This book is helpful to readers who align with the use of crystals for physical and spiritual healing and clarity. For those that have purchased gem and crystal water from their local apothecaries, this book allows the reader, with some simple instructions, to create their own healing "gem water" at home. The authors guide us in considering first the quality of the crystals that we have in our homes and then proceed to inform us as to how to cleanse them in preparation for the creation of the gem or crystal waters. There is emphasis on the cleansing process of crystals intended to be directly placed in the water itself. Most of this is known to those who steward crystals already but still the reminder is appropriate.Cautions are written in the text as to some of the higher intensity crystals and subequent possible "toxic" effects from those crystals and that the same list should not be placed directly into the water. Those same "toxic" effects can be avoided through the other methods suggested.Placing crystals directly, the boiling method, the evaporation method, the test tube method, transferring energy directly(not submerged), glass of water on a crystal slice and water in crystal bowls are discussed as options for the reader.Specifically educational is the combinations of crystals(color photos provided)to create therapeutic waters for specific concerns or intentions. This is extremely guiding and clarifying and takes the guess work out of which crystals to combine to address certain emotional, spiritual and physical concerns. The book is small and portable, colorfully illustrated and an informative reference for anyone who includes or is beginning to include crystals in their wellness regimen. It's a very easy read, with brief but clear directions that should quickly guide each reader into the fulfilling creation of their own crystal "gem" waters.

more like a booklet than a book, not much useful information in my opinion
Very brief handbook, Did not contain much useful information that is not available already online. The first large portion of the book is not recipes like I thought. This is more like a booklet that might be better used as a field guide for a novice.

Very informative
This little book is excellent. It goes through in detail different methods of making crystal remedies and explains the equipment you need, how many crystals, the strengths of various gems and their uses. My only complaint is that there isn't an index for looking up illnesses, hence why I knocked off a star. I felt slightly put out as well since you need about 1-3 of each stone you're using (or more) to make a litre of essence, although that isn't the authors' fault! I just haven't got enough crystals! Well worth it though if there is a specific thing you need to treat, you can then make sure you buy enough of the right stones. Also be aware that it's not a quick fix, you can't just pour tap water in a glass and chuck a stone in. Everything has to be properly cleansed and purified and each crystal essence takes at least a couple of hours to make and can take as long as a day. If it's a long term thing that you're treating (or at least, an illness lasting more than a day), it would be worth making them.Overall, well written, detailed and easy to understand.

A very useful little book!
I am quicky becoming a big fan of Michael's work, I also own his book crystal power, crystal healing which is fabulous and has proved invaluable for my crystal therapy practitioner course. I definetly put his work in the same league as Judy Hall. Although a short little book it tells you everything you need to know about preparing gem elixers and all the different methods that can be used. There are individual combinations of tried and tested crystals he has suggested which together form elixers for certain ailments or symptomes. But there is also an index at the back which states the theraputic qualities of many individual crystals which personally I think is the best part of the book. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is alot of the combination elixers require a vast number of crystals to make up one recipe, some of which are either not that easy to get hold of or expensive, but hay thats just the way it goes!Would definetly recommend though, and good value for money!

A good little guide book
I found this book quite useful to understand the different techniques of making gem 'water's, which are sometimes referred to as 'elixirs'. There is a test tube method which can be employed for making waters of malachite and other potentially poisonous stones, which solves the problem of contamination, and others which I had never thought of.The only down side was the description of the attributes of some of the stones in the back of the book which I didn't agree with , as I have my own feelings and opinions about them. For example, referring to the stone malachite again, their attributes for malachite are to soothe and make us beautiful, in a cosmetic way, but actually, there is far more to malachite than meets the eye in my experience, so it was kind of disappointing and I came away with the impression that the 'experts' weren't as expert as I would have liked. In this regard, it may be worth getting a broader view from other sources if you feel the descriptions don't resonate with you either..

Nice little interesting book
Yeah, liked this book as a starter. Was doing crystals in water years ago before it became widely known so was happy to find this pocket book with more info, the authors also describe a lot of crystals and different concoctions for different remedies . . all good, rather basic so if you wanted, say maybe more in depth detail, you would need one with more on this subject. Me, I love love crystals and have 50 + and am always happy finding different ways to use. Like this little book and well worth if your starting on the crystal pathway . . .
