Worked great!
I was in the U.S. and had a trip to Canada and I wanted to have data/wifi on my phone ideally already when arriving so I could use it to call an Uber or whatever... I had read the reviews and they were mixed but I thought for this price it was worth a shot! And it worked great for me!Now just to clarify... This super cheap phone card of course does NOT include a plan, data and minutes etc..What this card is great for is be able to already activate a number before arriving and then you can choose whatever plan works for you. I went to Phonebox online and also downloaded their app and it was easy to activate and choose a plan. One time I had a question and support was helpful and easy.If you're someone that wants to have the convenience of having a number and data while in Canada I can highly recommend. It worked great for me.

DO NOT BUY - WILL NOT ACTIVATE
I purchased this card for a September 2024 trip to Canada. Note that this product is a Rogers Network SIM card sold on Amazon by PhoneBox. Upon arrival in Canada, I was unable to activate the card, and when I contacted PhoneBox as instructed on the brochure that came with the SIM card, the representative informed me that PhoneBox no longer has its contractual arrangement with Rogers and so cannot activate the card. They advised that I could contact Rogers to activate the card, but told me that Rogers does not offer 7 day pre-paid "tourist" plans or other comparable short-term pre-paid plans; the cheapest Rogers plan is about $50 vs the $9 or $19 PhoneBox plans advertised on Amazon to go with this card. While the wasted cost of the card is trivial, I had to deal with the aggravation due to lack of a working phone on my vacation and time lost dealing with PhoneBox. I'd give this product a zero if I could.

It works
It works, I rate it four stars, because it didn’t work immediately, I had to be waiting for couple hours.

Great
This worked perfectly for our trip from the USA to Canada since my normal carrier doesn't offer service over the border. Just make sure your phone is unlocked so you can temporarily switch providers. There were no more phone numbers available for Montreal (summer 2023), so we just entered Toronto as our destination city and we didn't have a problem. This company does not automatically renew your plan. You don't have to worry about cancelling, but you may need to remind yourself if you wish to extend service. One GB of data was fine for our four day trip.No messages or texts were saved to our USA based phone number while we had this SIM card installed, so keep that in mind.

Worked like a charm!
Installed prior to departure and made sure phone recognized the sim card. Once on the ground, turned phone on and had service! Good connections from Quebec through Nova Scotia on a cruise.

Works Great in Canada
I bought this for my last trip to Canada. It was super easy to set up once I got into Canada. Follow the instructions on the card that comes with the SIM card and you should be fine. It took about 10 minutes to activate the new number and was $9CAD/week for calls in Canada, international texting, and 1 G data. Renewing after the 7 days was easy peasy.

15 minutes set-up and viola!
I had one week of talk/text in Canada with 1G data when I purchased the one week plan after activation. The first number on the back of the card the chip came in said “invalid”. The second number down on the card worked and it took 10-15 minutes to establish a connection. It texted me the phone number and how to set up voice messages.
