ONCE AGAIN, AMAZON PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS ARE LAZY HORRIBLE! KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY!
ONCE AGAIN, Amazon got /lazymode and decided to lump every style of Dockers shorts into one product category without differentiating the product description. If you think "the only difference between the color choices are the color", WRONG!I have had 2 of these shorts so far, and they were worlds apart. The "Docker's Olive" is made with a very thick material, almost like a pair of jeans; whereas the "Coastal Sage" style was lightweight, and a thinner material. It even has a product tag on it that says "Flyweight" on it... apparently Amazon, again too lazy to see that.SOOO... what does this mean for you? Because each has advantages/disadvantages, it depends on where you live; what you are doing.LIGHTWEIGHT ("Coastal Sage"): If you live in someplace like CA or HI; near water, and "120F+ temperatures", you will want the lightweight material. Plus, they are more water resistant (they are not a "towel", like the thicker one). If you also care about "environmental issues" (energy/water used to make; clean), or consider yourself "a hipster" and like the sleek look, the lightweight stuff is best. The disadvantage, of course, is they are far more likely to break on you over time.HEAVYWEIGHT ("Docker's Olive"): These shorts are rugged. You can do "crazy" stuff with them, and they won't simply break at the seams because you stretched your legs too wide (Been There, Done That). If you live in someplace that is "cold" like Seattle (with hot summer days; cold nights) then you want these. Or, if you are like me, and wear shorts 365.249 days a year. Also, if you live in a desert, and it gets super cold at night, these are best. The disadvantage is lack of water resistance... get them wet, and you will feel it for awhile.BOTTOM LINE: KNOW BEFORE YOU BUY. Because I have incomplete information as to all the different colors that exist, I would suggest that you find these in a store and test before loading up. Or buy only 1 of each, and test for yourself. Otherwise, don't get "shocked" from Amazon's laziness when you realize that you get a different color, and they were "Like totally different, dude", it is so...

Excellent quality cargo shorts at a huge discount. Fits as expected. I am so happy with this purchase!
I am a huge Dockers Cargo Shorts fan. I prefer the rip-stop cotton but I saw these blue camo print smooth cotton cargo shorts and I had to take a chance on ordering them. I recently lost some weight so I am now a 36 not a 38. So I previously purchased 6 pairs of the Dockers Rip Stop Cargo shorts 2 years ago in size 38 and wore them all the time. They are my favorite summer attire. They fit great and were very functional with all the pockets. The one issue I always had with them were the flaps on the rear pockets. The flaps would not allow the back of my shirt to sit well if I left my shirt untucked. Problem solved with this new redesign where the back pockets no longer have flaps. Wahoo! So these fit exactly like a standard pair of size 36 shorts. They are not relaxed fit, nor are the slim fit. They have two side pockets at the hip and 2 gusseted cargo pockets on each side with a flap that has a single button closure. They have two back pockets that are open and do not have a flap closure. I prefer this design but I am sure some will complain especially if they are used to the old design of the ripstop cargo shorts that Dockers was known for. The Dockers logo is stitched above the back right pocket in orange as is typical for all of their products. These feel good on and I can easily sit and bend over with feeling like the rise of the short moves too much to make wearing them uncomfortable even with the pockets loaded. I have now washed this product twice and if you need them to be perfect, you will need to touch them up with an iron but if you do not mind some minor wrinkles then they look great right out of the dryer. These also are very well stitched and I expect that they will be durable in the long term. For now I highly recommend these camo shorts and I have already purchased 5 other colors in the ripstop cotton so I recommend them too.

A surprisingly versatile pair of shorts
A pretty good pair of shorts. These shorts are cargo shorts, but they are also Dockers and a classic fit style, so they somehow manage to look both casual and dressy at the same time. While there is no formal situation where I would wear shorts, when I want to look a little nicer in shorts, perhaps with a polo, these shorts come in handy. But they also work just as well for a hot summer day at the park or hiking around. They are comfortable, heavy enough to to noticed but not so thick that they don't breathe, and seem fairly durable. Their length, often hard to get right in a pair of men's shorts, falls just right, being neither too short or too long. The color has stayed true despite multiple washings. Lastly, these shorts can even double as a pair of swim trunks if you are out in them and decide to spontaneously go swimming after a hike or if you come across a perfect place to jump in the water.Overall I have been pleased with these shorts and they were worth purchasing.

About the fit
The waist on these fit me well, although I've yet to wash them. Dockers' shorts tend to run big in the waist, but that doesn't seem true with these, so I am a little worried about them shrinking too much.Unlike some other reviewers, I don't think they're too short, but then I wasn't expecting them to be Capri pants, either. In fact, I think the inseam is a little long for cargo shorts. Long inseams are fine for walking shorts, but I think they look a little silly with cargo shorts, although these aren't too bad. My biggest complaint is with the leg openings, which are a little big for my slender legs. I wish Dockers would specify fits for ALL their products, so buyers would know what they're buying.I'm also not keen on regular buttons for cargo shorts and would rather have snap buttons or velcro for easy access. These are not among my favorite cargo shorts, but they're okay.Update: After washing them, they fit great and even better then expected. If they had snaps or velcro, they'd be close to perfect. I wish the material was less like a fashion short (i.e. more rugged), though.
