So I feel like i've ran every filter imaginable in the past 30+ years for SW and FW. For SW this could be used in a pinch to maybe run some media or whatnot but this is a FW filter. Its pretty small but the output isn't bad. Pro's: 1)Quiet which is why i tried this vs HOB. 2)Easy to Clean. The media boxes pop right off which makes it easy to clean. 3)Plenty of sponge filters. The sponge filters are great, ranging from largest to smallest correctly. 4)plenty of room in compartments, just in case you want to remove a sponge and add in carbon, ceramic....etc. 5) Water can only flow from bottom forcing all water through each filter layer. This is a great feature vs many of the others out there. Sure it will clog easier, but you know when your filter needs to be cleaned and you know your filtering through every layer.Cons: 1)Suction cups. I'm expecting this dude to eventually fall and turn my tank into a sandstorm, this will happen unless you place some failsafe measures. Tape the cord to the back of the tank, or tie it up...etc. 2)Its small so will need alot of cleaning which isn't a huge ordeal, just saying. 3) Pump does seem to make noise if it gets clogged at all.Overall so far its great, replaced some HOB filters and the noise and cleanliness looks great. It will be interesting to see how it holds up after time, but they are pretty dang cheap.

Order came fast, instructions say there should be bubbles but im not seeing the bubbles like the diagram shows. It puts out great pressure just not putting out air bubbles like i thiught it would. In the photo the ofilter putting out the bubbbles is the UV filter

If you are looking at this product, my suggestion is buy it, it is completely worth the money, currently using it on a 10 gallon shrimp tank, the filter housing is cut into three compartments, which one of the compartments has to be removed to fit standing straight up in aquarium like i have it in the picture. Which to me is completely fine. I removed one of the filter medias, and combined the other two medias in one compartment, the fine and the medium sponges, and in the other compartment i added a bag of carbon. Works awesome!

The water filter is too tall. I have a aquarium for turtles, and it is only 3/4 with water.

Replaced a topin charcoal filter. This is working well. Clean it usually 1x per week. Pulls apart and simply rinse the spongesedit: after many months it's still doing great. Haven't had to buy anything and am saving 20 bucks a month because I used to buy charcoal...what a mistake that was. Now I know. My fish and snails are happy, the tank is clear and maintenance is easy. Very happy16 months later and it's still going strong. Of note is, sometimes if you put the top blue filter in standing up instead of sideways the filter will not work properly and might make you think it isn't working. Just make sure that top blue filter is sideways to leave space between the fan cage and the filter.
