Great quality and fair price
Ordered this for the first time the other day as I was looking for a solution to my high carb evening snack habit! Arrived as two 500g packs and once opened it says you have to eat within 3 days. I’ve divided the first 500g pack into 5 100g portions. Popped them in a ziplock bag and kept them in the fridge. No problem and will last a little longer than 3 days in the fridge. The flavour is not particularly spicy but you’re never going to get a flaming hot experience with biltong anyway. That’s just not how it rolls!I’m looking forward to trying the plain biltong next as I do find the spicy one slightly too salty but that’s just my taste. Lovely flavour and great quality meat. No gristle and very little fat. Plus the free delivery is a huge bonus! Biltong is pricey due to the process but this cost seems fair.Confident that I will be a regular customer.Try it, you won’t be disappointed

Good biltong, great company... not very well named product.
good taste, good texture, lasts weeks if kept in an airtight jar and definitely good value for money. Literally the only complaint I could come up with is that its more "chilli and garlic" than "spicy" which I think is throwing a lot of people. If you're looking for a more classic peppery biltong the "traditional" flavour is probably the way to go, definitely recommend this brand though whatever flavour you're looking for.

Read this if you're not sure...
I read a few different reviews of this before buying this pack. I'd also tried all 3 flavours of biltong from this brand by ordering 3 individual small 40g packs directly from the biltong mans website and decided i liked nice'n'spicy the most.Economies of scale makes buying this or the larger 1kg pack more cost effective. People's main gripes in other reviews I've read have been:>The pieces aren't big enough>Once opened you have to eat it in 3-4 days according to the packaging>It's not spicy enoughWithout writing anything scathing about the people who wrote those things, I can confirm with 100% confidence that this has NOT been my experience. THIS STUFF IS TREMENDOUS.Let me address the above points in order:>The pieces were plenty big enough for me, sure some of them are cut slightly thinner than other varieties of biltong i've had in the past, but from this you get greater surface area on each piece for the excellent flavours to come through. Also if one piece isn't big enough for you, eat two or more at once!>I took several precautions to stop it from going off, first off i weighed out 10 50g portions and put them in some of these bags 100 Grip Seal Bags 3.5 x 4.5 Inch 200g Strong Reusable Zip Lock by sent 4 u ltd, then stored THEM in an airtight tupperware. I ate the lot over a period of about 3-4 weeks and all packets tasted just as fresh as it did on day 1. (Side note: i think the suggested consumption period is somewhat conservative given that its cooked, dried, spiced meat for crying out loud; the original point of jerky/biltong was to make it last without refrigeration.>I thought the level of spice was perfect - it creeps up on you and has an aftertaste that leaves you wanting more, but this will undoubtedly be down to personal preference. For people who can handle a vindaloo or fahl or naga (i.e.: nutters), you'll probably want something spicier. I'm a bhuna man and this suits me down to the ground. Will definitely be buying again, as for me it's the best tasting best value variety of Biltong there is.

Great biltong! Not spicy at all
Great tasty! Fantastic really. However if you are like me I love spice and unfortunately this biltong isn’t spicy no zing at all

My personal favorite.
We tried the tasty traditional flavor, my gf from Zim, really liked the Tasty Traditional Fatty (check it out it's amazing). I think I found my personal favorite. The name refers to it being spiced, not spicy as in "hot". It is very nicely spiced indeed, while remaining moist enough and not dry like other brands. I love the tangy and savory taste of this quality Biltong. Big chewy pieces full of flavor, this must be the most addictive snack out there, we end up taking it to the cinema, it's perfect! It makes no noise, doesn't smell and tastes better than anything else you can buy in the theater. I just keep coming back for more, I'm at my third order already. Two of my mates are going to order as well after the stole some of mine at lunch. We tried many Biltong brands, only this one survived. The care for the product that is put into this Biltong you can simply taste it, I talked to Glenn (The Biltong Man). He knows what Biltong should taste like and where it comes from it's in his heritage and believe me, it does not disappoint. The delivery goes perfect, never had one that didn't come on time, smooth sailing.

Grand Value Biltong
Biltong is becoming popular. Now, not only the taste of the devoted, we now find it in supermarkets and increased sites on line promoted as a high protein health snack. I agree, but as a pricey product and sources are important. The Biltong Man delivers 1kg in 500gm vacuum packed parcels. If you work it out it is less cost than commercial supplies. Obviously, quantity comes into the equation as well as quality. The Biltong Man 1Kg comes in two 500 gm. vacuum packed parcels. The Nutrition is as follows per 100gm:Energy 279kcal.Fat 6.2gm.Saturates 2.08gm.Carbohydrates 2.6gm.Sugars 1.5gm.Fibre 1.5gm.Protein 53.9gm.Salt1.82gmHaving tried many Biltong products, this is consistently enjoyed and more some. Dry and chewy with a peppery taste, it all comes down to value for money and personal preference. If kept refrigerated it will, hands off, last 10 days. Frozen tightly in brown paper it still retains its flavour for 3 weeks. (Can't leave it longer). Biltong is appearing in supermarkets as a high protein health food. I agree, but check prices and don't confuse with beef jerky (higher sugar content).
