These are great candles which I bought to put in a couple of lanterns. They are made from wax and look fairly realistic. They come with a small remote control so you can switch them on and off, alter the brightness and switch from static to flicker mode.i keep mine on the flicker mode as I think it's the most realistic, however, this does make a little tapping noise as the 'flame' flickers back and forth. I have mine in a couple of lanterns and it does muffle the tapping sound somewhat. Just something to be aware of before purchasing.

Marvellous candles! Work beautifully and look great when put together or up the stairs. Using the remote makes them so easy to switch on and off. A few presses are needed sometimes but I can cope with that!

Bought candles to go in a fireplace. They are lovely candles and give off a lovely glow, love the remote control as well. Very good price and quick delivery

OK I have to admit I was sitting on the fence about whether or not to buy these, but I finally caved in, and I am really glad I did. These are wonderful! Just perfect for my little gaming room in the spare bedroom. They work perfectly and give off a really bright light (and you can dim them too which another great option) The flickering wick gives them a real sense of realism, especially from a distance. I also like the 'candle' option on the remote which gives a 'guttering' effect which you get with real candles. I note some people on here were complaining about the wick not moving at all....note that in the options box you get when ordering there are options for 'static flame ones' or 'dancing flame one's, and I would rather suspect some of you ticked the wrong box, either that or you have them on static flame on the remote. I guess battery usage is dependant on whether you have them on a dimmer or brighter setting. I invested in some Venom Rechargable batteries to go with them, which I think is the best option as ordinary batteries would not last long. Rechargable batteries might be expensive, but they would eventually pay for themselves and some. On the minus side (and it is a very small minus) yes there is a tinkling sound, which personally I find rather soothing, and you do have to be virtually right on top of them to hear it anyway, and with the TV on or immersed in a game you really won't notice them it all. Buy with confidence. I truly love these!! Actually thinking of purchasing a second set for a different room. NOTE: Please pay attention to the fact that these are totally unsuitable to be positioned anywhere near a heat source, they are after all made of wax, so don't place near a heater or on a window sill in the hot sun. In the video you can see the difference between the guttering effect and flickering wick I mentioned, and then I use the remote to put them on still mode (not so effective in my opinion) but obviously a matter of personal choice. UPDATE ON REVIEW: I HAVE BROUGHT THESE DOWN SLIGHTLY TO 4 STARS BECAUSE THE SECOND LOT I BOUGHT WERE NOT PERFECT. THE WICKS ON TWO OF THE CANDLES HAD COME ADRIFT AND WERE RATTLING AROUND INSIDE THE BODY OF THE CANDLE. RATHER THEN SEND THEM ALL BACK IT WAS A RELAVITIVELY EASY FIX. WITH A STEADY HAND, LONG NOSED PLIERS AND SOME SUPER GLUE I MANAGED TO SECURE THE PLASTIC LOOP CONTAINING THE WIRE THAT HOLDS THE WICK BACK INTO PLACE. BIT OF A FIDDLIE JOB BUT I GOT THERE IN THE END, APART FROM THat THEY ARE ALL WORKING PERFECTLY NOW. A COUPLE DID NOT COME ON STRAIGHT AWAY, BUT IT TURNS OUT I HAD NOT PUSHED THE BATTERY DOOR FULLY INTO PLACE (IF ITS NOT CLIPPED IN PROPERLY IT WONT WORK) HOPE THIS HELPS HELPS SOME OF YOU GUYS WITH SIMILAR ISSUES

Great product at a great price. Great features like the timer and remote and looks really good whilst being perfectly safe. A bit juicy on batteries but rechargeables can help.

Arrived on time by Royal mail. They are lovely, perfect shade of red for Christmas- the remote is great you can brighten the light switch them on and off and set them on a timer. Remote has batteries the candles do not. Takes 2x AA for each candle which is inexpensive for the safety aspect. I was fed up with spilt candle wax on our furniture and if you have small children or pets you do not want the worry of burns of fires. and I recommend this product

Bought these as a gift and kept them for myself. They look realistic from a distance and the strength of light can be brought up or dimmed using the remote control. You also have a timer function so I have mine set to come on at a certain time in the evening for 4 hours. You can put them on for longer or shorter periods, or not use the timers at all and just turn them on and off as and when required. Instructions are included in the box. The candles require 2 AA batteries each and I’m not sure yet how long those will last. They look pretty though and the flame part moves gently giving a realistic flicker (with a slight crackle or flicking noise). I don’t notice the noise at all having used the candles for a few days. The light also bounces off my ceiling in a nice way. I’d be happy to recommend these to friends.

Hubby thought these were a bit of a joke when I purchased them for using in our motorhome. I love my candlelight at home and I missed it when we were on holiday. Not the best idea to use real candles in an MH. He has certainly changed his mind now. Yes, up close its obvious they arent real but they give a lovely soft light and with 2 or 3 on its a very gentle light and easy on the eyes. The remote control was also a selling point - he likes gadgets and it works very well. Happily recommend these. Dont understand what another reviewer was talking about with the ticking noise - no noise at all from these, just lovely light and a nice ambiance. Worth every penny of the £16.99.

Son ideales y parece que son de llama completamente! Me gusta mucho el diferente tamaño de las cinco. Puestas en conjunto quedan perfectas y aportan calidez a cualquier rincón y sin peligro de incendio. Lo del mando es un punto a tener en cuenta, de un solo toque se encienden todas. Puedes elegir modo de llama (a cual más real) y tiempo de apagado entre 2, 4, 6 y 8 horas. Me parece una compra fantástica, estoy muy contenta con ella!!

excellent candles. great price. do esnot include A batteries in package. this is a good thing, as those are frequently short life carbon zinc cells prone to leakage. these candles are somewhat narrower diameter than i expected, but provide long lasting charming ambient light from rechargeable NiMH AA cells. the included 2 (!) remote controls allow for custom operation of candles placed in different rooms without having to search for the lone remote. if a timed run setting is selected, the candles will automatically come on at same time in subsequent days.

Purchased these to use in an arrangement on our dining table. I was pleased with the quality and so far battery life seems quite nice. I replace with real candles when we have dinner parties, but for day to day I enjoy seeing these come on each evening. Brings some nice light to a usually dark surface. I also like that they are real wax and the 'flames' are similar to Luminaria candles - which are MUCH more expensive. From the pics I was not expecting this - they should really promote this feature more. The flames 'dance' like real flames and really do look real. My favorite type of battery candle. Definitely recommend.

Lo único es que si las quieres usar con mando tienes que encenderlas con el botón que lleva en la base y luego dejarlo en ON. Si lo apagas de la base, no puedes encenderlas con el mando. - La luz es cálida, se puede programar la intensidad (más o menos brillo), el tiempo que las quieres tener encendidas (2, 4, 6, 8 horas) y el modo (vela o light). - El tacto es de vela, las coges en la mano y crees que es una vela. No hay nada que no me guste de estas velas. Todas las personas que las ven se quedan encantadas, y a todas les doy el enlace de compra de amazon. Me encantan. Van a pilas normales (nada de botón), lo cual es para mí un montón de puntos a favor.
