Scepter Portable Diesel Fuel Tank, Gas Storage Caddy with Pump & Hose, 14 Gallon

I love these fuel cells. I now have 6 of these, 4 for gasoline, and two for diesel. I recently purchased a compact tractor that runs on diesel and needed fuel cells to have on the ranch to fill it. They are really convenient and if hoisted a bit make gravity your friend. I already had gasoline ones for my previous tractor, lawn mower, and generator. That is why I bought the same brand. They are tough, easy to use, and handy storage units for fuel. The hoses could be a better quality, a bit stiff in my opinion and the pump lever lock is a pain to use.

First, the people complaining about this not working dont understand gravity. It is not pressurized and the outlet at the bottom of the tank and the lowest point of the hose must be higher than the top of your container or it wont work. The higher you place it the more pressure it will flow with.It is not fast but its a lot easier to hold the squeeze handle of the dispenser than hold up a full five gallon tank of diesel to fill my tractor.I mounted a heavy duty hook and built a heavy duty shelf so that the weight of this (little over 100lbs full) is split between the hook and shelf. I lift it full from the back of the truck to the hook with pallet forks on the tractor.The first one I received had a leak at the factory hose crimp. I contacted the company through Amazon and they promptly sent a replacement hose with no hassle at no charge.The second hose does not leak a drop.I like it enough I'm going to buy its red cousin.

I only wanted one tank but after comparing prices and quality of like products the 2 pack was the best value for me. I like the volume of gas it can carry with the added convenience of a hose and pump and on wheels. Very comforting having that extra tank of gas when on a long trip/camping/exploring whether you’re carrying one or both and being able to fill it up whenever you travel through places will lower gas prices or in times when gas prices are lower. It does pump by gravity which is a little slow and when the tank is low you must have the tank higher than the vehicle or machine being fueled to continue the flow of fuel. Maybe a little pump of some type would help especially for those of us that face challenges lifting something with a little weight on it to get that last little bit of liquid gold out of the tank. I would have given this a 5+ if it had that. I’m very pleased with this product.

I bought (2) of them to have gas on my property as required (more for emergencies). They have been sitting for about 6 months and zero leaks (for either). The quality seems there, and the fittings and connectors are tight and obviously holding fuel. They are pretty ergonomic and easy to handle, but heavy when filled. The wheels work okay. No issues with the pump either - would recommend.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Certainly, the unit is strong and designed well for its purpose. What is is most troublesome is that after a year and a half of use, the siphon hose and handle( made poorly) just started leaking and stopped working altogether. Finding a replacement is difficult and costly. The one I found for $97 seems like robbery as the cost of the unit was $149. I recommend not going to the trouble just to have the siphon hose give out so soon after purchase.

Be aware that this drips a substantial amount of diesel out of the pump handle at its hose attachment point and through the hand pump itself making a diesely mess of where ever it’s stood.The container itself is fine, the stiff hose and poor attachment seal and dispenser handle let this product down.

This is absolutely my new favorite way to fuel all my machines. This product works as described. It is well designed and very sturdy.

It’s a good way to go if you don’t want a high dollar greasy tank in the back of you truck.
