I used this to help me study for CPC Exam. I passed the first time I took it. 🙌🏽

This book does a decent job at preparation, but some of the things in here made little sense. There were at least two questions that incorporated ICD-10-PCS, not sure why since that's not on the CPC exam. Also, there is no Appendix G or a bull's eye on any of the codes in CPT, so those answer explanations did little to explain how you would know certain codes included moderate sedation.

Love the coding tips and the 300 exam questions and answers. A lot of info for the price!

The answers are using deleted codes. I spent way to much time trying to find codes that didn't exist. Several example procedures use description that isn't relevant to today's procedures. The first test was great. The second set not so great and the final set I total gave up on because it had too many errors in coding. The explanations are vague and do not explain the depth of knowledge: Anatomy and physiology, or the pathology or why the code was selected. They also included questions for billing that CPC doesn't test for. These type of questions are unnecessary. They also included why modifiers are chosen based on billing. Again, CPC is just for Coding Specialists and not billing. I was so confused until I called a Coder friend and asked about misleading concepts presented. This test is already frustrating and throwing more concepts that aren't even tested is irritating.

I took stars off for the typos throughout the book that are important when answering questions. The best part of this book is that it encourages discussion and research to correct the typos. Study with a friend with this book.
