Pretty good bit of kit, not the cheapest but worth the money.
UPDATE!!So, it has been a few months now. As mentioned below, I did drop the unit within the first few uses and fubar the shaving head, but the motor unit was fine and still is., although it seems to not hold its charge quite as long, but I think this is normal once a battery has settled in from new and it really hasn't been too noticeable, maybe a half a head shaves worth shorter. However, I am noticing some downsides to this product. Firstly, the replacement head that I ordered from Skull Shaver UK worked fine, but after a few months of 3-4 times a week use (and with only half a head of hair left to actually shave!), it is now squealing from the central blade and overall, the shave doesn't feel as close. I have followed all the cleaning instructions to the letter and have only used water or shaving foam as instructed and must say I find that a £30 blade should have a bit more life that this.To that end, if the blades need replacing a couple of times year or more (remember I only have the Friar Tuck hair left, may be more if shaving a full head of hair), that makes this a much more expensive product overall and at that price, I would start to debate if it is worth it, even once the cost of traditional razor blades are considered. So I would ultimately update this review with the caveat that this is still fine if you are in a bit of a rush and want something that you can whip over your head and get a reasonably reliable shave with, or have sensitive skin, but I would suggest that for a 'proper' shave that will last a bit longer than a day before becoming pretty stubbly, you may want to add a proper razor to your tool kit.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I have accepted the onward march of my naturally balding head for some time, but I have finally taken the plunge and decided to shave down the last bastions of hair growth on the back of my head that make me look a little like Friar Tuck has tried to look trendy and failed. I have regularly used clippers for ages but times time, lets do this properly.I bought one of these through the 'Amazon Warehouse Deals' as it was £40 cheaper than brand new. It arrived sealed as new so I have no idea what about it made it 'used' or anything. Still, a good saving for some good shaving. Sorry, couldn't resist that one.First use of the shaver was without shaving foam. End result was smooth and pretty much as close as you would expect with an electric rotary shaver. I was quite impressed.Further uses have seen me use it with shaving foam (use foam only, do not use gel or oil based wet shaving products as it apparently clogs/damages the blades). The shaving experience is much nicer with the foam and the end result seems just that little bit smoother. I think it is safe to say that you won't get as close as you would with a more traditional razor, but it is perfectly acceptable and far more convenient as it can be used dry, unlike traditional razors. The claim of it shaving ones head in 90 seconds I find a bit unrealistic (though skull shaver have a video of a guy doing just that), but then I don't tend to rush. I find 4-5 minutes is enough time to do the job, applying shaving foam, rinsing regularly as I go and making sure I haven't missed any bits.I have, however, already managed to drop the skull shaver from just over 6ft up as it slipped out of my hand during use. This has damaged the blade head which still works, but makes a nasty rattling sound. Managed to find the Forte blade (comes as standard on the Gold version) on the skull shaver website (select the UK site when you go there) and have ordered a replacement. Motor part works fine still. Testament to the quality of the build, but the blades didn't like the drop. Still, good to know replacement blades are available, but not on Amazon, unless you want the earlier Bald Eagle blades. Make sure you get the pitbull blades though, the bald eagle ones wont fit this shaver. And as putting them back together after I dropped them has shown, it isn't worth taking them apart to clean them, you will likely just knacker them! Just follow the cleaning instructions included with the shaver.Overall, I like this. Pricey but worth it. I will get the case and stand at some point as they would be quite useful. Just be mindful not to drop the thing!

Great alternative when not wanting to wet shave.
Don’t want to Bic my head and so was looking for an alternative, and Pitbull is great! I have only used this on my head and it is brilliant. Easy to use, contours to your scalp and gets an incredible close shave. I haven’t used it on my face as I have a beard and so the only downside is I still have to use a separate trimmer to do near my sideburns as it is not built for precision and shaping. It’s all or nothing with this one!

Its alright
Its always been a bit temperamental, battery indicator is a rough guess and dies around 20%.Will only work on shaved heads as the blades clog up if i leave it more than 4 5 days. Finally died today half way through a shave.Tried to buy a replacement blade of the official website, endes up buying the wrong one, emailed support to inquire which would work. There response was "one of these *links whole product catalogue*"Looking at alternatives.

Quick Close Shave from a quality Shaver
I have used a clipper on my hair for years but recently decided to shave my head bald. I had been using a combination of an electric face shaver and wet razor blade but decided to try a skull shaver. Looking at the options I chose the Pitbull Gold and for once, feel it's worth reviewing. How well does it Shave: It's very good, a bit better than I had expected and better than a traditional face shaver. The 5 heads flex almost enough to match the contour of your skull but could hug my head a little more if I was pedantic. It's leaves a closer shave than a foil face shaver but not quite as close as a wet razor. I am finding a daily shave with the Pitbull and the wet razor for the times when a smooth ultra clean finish is needed a great compromise of time and effort.Charging: Charging is svery simple, plug it in and 4 Hours later, fully charged. I'm getting about 8 or 9 shaves out of a full charge and I take about 5min per shave. I guess I'm going to charge it up one a week even though it won't be fully depleted but that works for me.Ease of Use: The Pitbull is simple to use and easy to operate. I favour holding the battery unit in the palm of my hand but it's just as easy to use it with the recommended fingers either side of the center spindle above the 5 shaving heads.Quality : It has a great build quality, feels solid in the hand and does not seem like it will break or fail anytime soon.Hope this review helps you and for a fussy purchaser, I for once am very happy.
