Will this allow me to square up my MFT table easily and accurately?

This is for your guide rails. It has nothing to do with squaring up your MFT table. YouTube has some great videos on how to do that. I would recommend this kit for your guide rails though, definitely expands their capabilities.

Does a makita track work for this also

yes they use the same type of track, although the makita rib is about 1mil difference in width compared to festool's track, its a quick adjustment with the thumb wheels to get a makita product to work on a festool rail
