Cat's Cradle (Klutz): A Book of String Figures

I bought this as a gift for an 11 year old and she has had hours of amusement from it. The diagrams are really clear and colourful. I especially liked the fact that the book is spiral bound, so you can open to a page and it will stay there without closing again. This useful when your hands are occupied with the string! The included string is good quality and still going strong after many months - no fraying at all. I would definitely recommend this book; it’s a good, old fashioned pastime.

Nice to buy some of these old school toys sometimes and watch the excitement of children's minds. Although you can just get any piece of yarn and make it yourself, this came with a book which has pictures and 'how to make' other cats cradle shapes with your hands. Kept my little one busy for a while, she is 9 and often gets it out when she is bored so we can play. Bit expensive for what it is, but worth it in terms of the time she has spent playing with it.

Ideal present for my 8 year old niece who loves things to do. Great gift for children who like to work things out by themselves!

Had this as a child and loved it so thought I’d buy it for my friends daughters for Christmas, fantastic book with coloured coded string making the directions so easy to follow. Will give hours of fun and such a good price point for a token gift.

I purchase this for my four children who absolulty loved it! I myself used to attempt this as a child with my sister using a piece of string and it brought hours of fun.The book comes with its own colourful string, highly illustrative descriptions that are easy to follow and the quality is great.This has been a trip down memory lane and something that I have been able to share with my children. 5 Stars...

My 10 year old daughter and her friends have loved this product. The instructions are easy to follow and as they get used to it they manage the creations independent of the book. For an old fashioned toy, both boys and girls have been clamouring for a go at school play times. The string is very durable. Highly recommended.

I loved cat's cradle when I was young and went on to do macrame' and tapestry weaving - The 'boy next door' introduced me to Cats Cradle and he went on to achieve a Duke of Endinburgh's gold award and was a very good yachtsman (a knowledge of knots helps you with many things) this helps a childs imagination and dexterity too - and makes a friend as it is great to share the games with someone.

I bought this for my 7 year old as part of her birthday present. She loved it, so did her 10 year old sister, we had to find another piece of cord so they could both have one. Then my Daughter (their Mum) remembered 'The Fly' which isn't in the book, but she remembered it after 20/25 years. We have all played for hours with it, such old fashioned fun. Well worth the money for entertainment value alone.
