love/hate relationship
I've got a serious love/hate relationship with this product, which is why I gave it 3 stars. The positive: the functionality and usefulness is mind-blowing. I absolutely love the tactility of changing my photo settings via knobs and dials. Rather than staring at sliders, I can stare at my photo and changes its qualities just with my fingertips without looking. This is incredible. Total game changer for photo editing. The negative: the build quality is absolutely horrible, especially for the price. The keyboard was so warped that not even all four corners can touch my desk at the same time! It's all made of plastic and it's very obvious. The buttons have a nice feel sometimes, but still plasticky. I'd prefer more rubber or metal on the knobs and dials, and overall.I messaged them about this to see what they can do, will update if anything changes!Yes the build quality is bad, but I think overall I'd still purchase it for the functionality.

Would be great for $100.
Makes LR use far easier. Good design, but I would like an off switch since it stays on when the Mac sleeps, necessitating the hassle of unplugging from the back of an iMac. Sometimes the computer's responses to the Loupedeck's inputs are slow--would likely be a real issue if I were processing a pro's volume of photos. But the main issue is that for this price, quality should be far better. I mean, how much is a keyboard whose every key works every time--and offers great feel? The push buttons only work if pushed directly in the center--otherwise the push is ignored. The wheel has no weight, and its push-click is plasticky. Would also be nice if knobs and wheel had a rubbery texture. I delayed ordering because I was sure this device would eventually be sold for $99, but no luck so far. Somebody should (and probably will) create a similar product that earns the $300 price.

May not work at all
More flash than function. Beautifully designed shipping packaging. Did not work at all. I was told that the "+" version fixed a lot of problems. Returned this model and bought the plus version. The plus had exactly the same setup program which was oddly marked as a beta release. It also did nothing but to tell me that Loupedeck thinks I look great today and to light up a single LED on the panel. No knobs or switches did anything. Loupedeck takes the weekend off so there was no immediate support. They told me that they expected a local area network scheme different than the commonly-used one that I use. This is not a networked device and neither is Lightroom (it's software). I get tired of support having easy answers that don't solve the problem. If your network does not use the 127.0.0.xxx IP scheme, this product will not work for you. Sounds incredible, since this is connected by USB, not Ethernet.Thank goodness Amazon provides such good support to its customers.

Amazing Time Saver that Helps Deliver Better Images!
I do real estate photography and this tool has cut my time to process images from a shoot down dramatically. What used to be a lot of "mousing around" is now some quick dial movements. It didn't take long to load up and customize some presets on the upper buttons and using the quick star rating helps me hone in on the images I want to work on or export from raw files to jpeg. Great example, yesterday I photographed 2 homes and both had short turn around times. What would have taken me 2 to 3 hours, took 45 minutes. I also found myself adjusting and fine tuning beyond what I normally would have done. Much like a keyboard, you quickly learn the position of certain dials and can focus on the image and make the adjustment (and not worry about the position of the mouse.) Truly a great product and worth every cent for the time it saves!

An excellent tool for post processing hundreds of shots. With a little bit of effort this can control things other than LR.
If you are a hands-on person, this is worth a try. It is very satisfying to reach for an exposure knob or twist the white balance knob. A quick tap on the star buttons for rating your photographs. One I feel is underrated by folks is the set of hue/saturation/luminance rollers--in the kind of event photography I do, I often find people have an orange cast to their face after my regular post processing, and if that happens, I just put my finger on the wheel for orange and roll a little bit off until the skin tones are pleasing. An added bonus of this unit is that it really is just a customized MIDI controller, so you can use the software of your choice to allow you to use Loupedeck to control other software. On the Mac I use Keyboard Maestro, and I have created settings to control other photo software such as Photo Mechanic, as well as music software such as Capo or iRealPro, assigning various knobs to control tempo, volume, key, and so forth.Note that Loupedeck does not do this out of the box--it comes with software for Lightroom only--but if you already have software like Keyboard Maestro, then you are only limited by your imagination.

Really great idea. Okay design. Terrible build quality.
Well, I've been dreaming of this for years. I'm a musician and music teacher as well, so I gaze longingly at mixing boards and lighting boards, thinking "why not...."

Not good for lefties.
I could not get use to the button placement, so I sent it back.

Good Product, and will decrease the amount of time to develop

Meh at best. Possible issues with Mac Plugin
SHORT VERSION: For those who do not want to read the entire review, let me break it down. This is Meh, at best. It has a great potential, but falls short in a lot of areas.

Great deck when it works
Great deck when it works, which is not very often. Had many issues trying to get it set up originally.

Poor device software
A potentially very interesting device, but unfortunately has a poor software. My system runs OS X 10.

Awesome idea.... Cheaply built. Failed in a few weeks.
I liked that it slightly sped up my editing speed. But it is so cheaply built that the next button started to fail about 2 weeks into using it. At first a light press would work.

Sticky buttons but...
So this product is not built very well. Some of the buttons I use frequently stick and that can be quite annoying.
