APEC WATER ROTL-AIO Replacement Filter Cartridge – 600 GPD Reverse Osmosis Filter, All in One, Removes 99% of impurities (FI-TL-AIO)

The filter was easy to install and the water tastes great. However we didn't need to buy this new filter at all! We did so because the unit conked out and we didn't know why. Reading other reviews for this RO system, customer service had suggested buying a new filter with same symptoms. But the problem was that the APEC ROTL-AIO tankless water system unit wasn't working properly. After the faucet was turned off, the pump would turn on and off about every 5 seconds. Then after about 30 minutes of mechanical indigestion, the unit switches itself off, and it looks like a clogged filter, but it's not.Customer service tried to be helpful, and asked me to do a lot of things all related to a firm conviction that the problem was a tiny water leak or the pump. Those weren't problems. It was the "water hammer" effect, a pressure wave running up and down the output tube causing the unit to think that the faucet was on, stop pumping, and then realizing that the faucet was off. I could stop the cycling by wrapping a heavy mass (a Nordicktrack wristband) around the blue output tube. This work somewhat, but it would still cycle a few times when the faucet was off before stopping. I tried an extermal check valve instead and this also worked somewhat. Making the tube longer also helped and this was eventually suggested by an APEC technician as well. So we added an extra 7 feet of tubing, and then a check valve connected to the original output tubing going up to the faucet. That works much better, at least so far (knock on wood).I hope that this helps anyone who has the same problem with this unit. Also take the advice from customer service with a grain of salt. They got me doing a whole bunch of time consuming things and kept insisting it was a leak even after I told them how I could mitigate the problem and explained the issue. If you notice this continuous cycling and there doesn't seem to be a leak, try holding the output tube firmly to see if this helps. If it does, it's likely the same problem we have. This will save you time and possibly money if you're on this page looking to buy a new water filter.

Replacement of a filter has never been this easy. It lasts about 9 months for us instead of the recommended 12 month because we pass the system to the fridge which fills a pitcher of water and makes ice. Also, used for our cooking and hot water boiler. High usage, but water tastes decent all the time. Overall satisfied with this filter.

Excellent ease of use

Extremely easy installation. But directions are not very clear as to the steps to complete installation on the AIO RO unit itself. Contacted APEC and received very clear instructions via email. Great product and friendly customer service.

Lasted less than 3 months this time around. The same filter worked for over an year! For reference, We are a family of three.

Good replacement filter. easy to install.

The filtration system works excellent but our filter lasted only 4 months! It’s expensive and to be changing it every four months is ridiculous.

No complaints. We just enjoy clean water now!
