Great for avoiding messes!
I bought my daughter a set of acrylic paints and some smaller canvases for her 5th birthday. I ordered this at the same time anticipating it to turn out messy. This mat was spacious enough that I had no paint to clean off any other surfaces. I was impressed at how easily the paint washed off of this mat! It made clean up a breeze! The magnetized dish for brush cleaning is great. My only advice is don't fill it more than half full with water to avoid spilling when changing the water. This definitely makes art time more feasible on busy days when there wouldn't be time for a ton of cleanup.

Nice and easy to use, maybe a bit smaller than what I was thinking it would be, but still big enough to get a nice mess going and not worry about having to clean anything off of your counter tops or designated work space!

Darker color paint stains it
I had great expectations for this and painting rocks with my granddaughters. I love it except for if you use darker color paint it will stain the lighter color pads. No big deal for me but just wanted to let others know this. Also love that water cup is held to mat by a magnet.
