This is a REALLY SMALL and DELICATE hook, so it has to be handled quite carefully.I measured it, and it's only 2mm in diameter, so when it's closed, it's about the size of the eye of a darning needle. It's ok for thread or fine wool, but for standard knitting wool, you would definitely need something a bit bigger.It's also supplied with a plastic cap to protect the hook, which can be attached to the other end to make it easier to hold.I used it to pull a couple of snags through some smooth knitted socks, and it worked well - a bit fiddly at first, but it it did the job.For less than £2:00, I think this is a useful little tool for anyone's sewing kit, which, if handled carefully, should last as long as the other stuff like needles, thimbles, seam rippers, etc.

Brilliant piece of it. Every home should have one. It saved a beautiful top I have from being thrown away. Very smooth fabric with a small pull which was clearly visible. This tool is SO fine and delicate, I managed to pull through the snag and the damage is no longer visible. Excellent. Also delivered quickly and in perfect condition (appropriate packaging.)

Does the job

I've been after one of these for a few years after I no longer had access to the one I used to use many years ago. It makes light work of fine tasks involving threads, not just repairing snags and pulls, but also tying knots in short lengths of cotton / fine rope and hair beading.
