Great Set Up! Love the Coffee!
This is exactly what we were looking for to take camping with no hookups. The coffee tastes great and I am using it even when we are not camping. You can use it just to heat water too. I love hearing the percolator bubbling up, so cool. Thanks for a great product!

I Didn't Let My Induction Stovetop Stop Me!
The media could not be loaded. I drink a lot of coffee. I make it every morning and drink several cups. Wanting to get away from plastic components in all drip coffee makers, I decided to see if I would like the dreaded percolator (which most coffee fanatics just hate with the passion.) I fondly remember that delicious, vintage perking sound in the morning from my parent's stovetop percolator and decided perhaps it's time for a comeback.I really dreaded having to figure out the right timing, the right amount of coffee, etc., since I never used one, but I bravely forged ahead. Guess what? It's not that difficult and the coffee is wonderful and very hot, unlike most drip makers. I drink my coffee black and hate weak tasting or bitter tasting or cold coffee. This percolator pleasantly surprised me. It's all metal and glass with a wood handle. I would like the lid to be a bit more substantial and stay closed so one doesn't have to hold it down while pouring, however, it does the job. I have an induction cooktop on my stove and didn't want to fuss with making sure the bottom would work, so I purchased an inexpensive electric burner. This setup works great and in a way, I turned my stovetop pot into an electric one. Added plus, I can make coffee anywhere in the house I'd like to. (BTW my Bosch Induction Stove didn't want to cooperate with this percolator.) Why didn't I just buy an electric percolator to begin with? I wanted more control over the heat and the timing since I am a bit picky about coffee taste.HINT #1: Buy yourself extra glass globes. Immediately. My pot fell on the floor the 2nd day I owned it in my haste to get my coffee grounds ready. Yes, I was excited to use it. Thankfully Amazon/Coletti sell them separately and they arrive quick! I bought 4 of them.HINT #2: It speeds things up A LOT if you boil your water in a tea kettle on your stove, especially if you have a boost mode on your induction stovetop. Either boil it or get it very hot & then pour into the percolator. The perking starts very quickly and you can get to your luscious coffee sooner. I haven't noticed any difference in taste doing it this way.I'm not going back to drip coffee anytime soon. I bought the 9 cup (5 cup in American speak) but I just might be buying a larger unit to have handy when my coffee-drinking friends/relatives come over.

Glad I bought it - great coffee - no plastic
Very happy with this purchase. Likes... stainless steel, no plastic, glass perk knob... GREAT tasting coffee. It takes some experimenting to get it just the way you want it but you can do that easily.I use the little round filters that came with it, and regular store bought folgers half caff coffee.I use 3 slightly rounded scoops of coffee, and fill it up to the 9 cup mark. On our glass top electric stove I heat it on HIGH until it perks (11 minutes when filled to the 9 cup mark) and then I turn it down to med/low (2-3) and let it perk for 8-9 minutes. The coffee produced is much bolder than our old drip coffee maker, smells great while perking and drinking, wonderful flavor. If you ground your own fresh coffee beans, no doubt it would be even more wonderful.I am VERY happy with this purchase. Actually came back to Amazon to see if they made a 12 cup version which would be nice for when my kids come home to visit - but sad to say I could not find it in a 12 cup.Ps... the cup size I think must be 5 oz cups, because when we fill it to the "9 cup" mark, we only get 5 or so cups of coffee (8-10 oz regular coffee mug type cups).Clean up is easy. I hand wash mine, mostly just rinse it out with hot water and then wipe it dry with towel. Use a little soap now and then. The only thing I don't like is the time it takes to get to perk with our older electric cook top.Considering purchasing one of those fancy induction cook tops to speed that up.Buy it, you will like it !*UPDATE* 9/13/2018 - I purchased a NuWave PIC Platnum (latest model as of this date) - this is an induction cooktop. It WORKS with this Percolator just fine. (there was some question of that) but glad to report that it does work. With the NuWave you can program it to do Stage Cooking... Stage 1, some temp, for some time, State 2, some temp, for some time, etc... then save that as a program number that you can run, and it will auto go thru the different stages.I fill the Percolator up to the first hole in the spout (you can see that when you look inside the pot)... this is close to the 9 cup mark.I programmed the NuWave to run at 575 degrees for 7 minutes (that gets me to the first few perks)... and then at 210 degrees for the next 9 minutes (that is how long I want it to perk)... and it does perk at 210, but will not at 205. At 215 it perks a little strong, so I set it to use 210 degrees for the next 9 minutes (stage 2), and then for the last stage... I set it to keep the coffee nice and hot 180 degrees, for the next 20 minutes and then to shut off. That lets me come back for a nice HOT second cup...Worked like a champ this morning. Just filled my pot up to the first hole, put my 3 scoops of coffee in, and told it to run program 99 (where I had saved those 3 stages of cooking). It ran the 7 minutes at 575 degrees and just started perking... then stage 2 kicked in, 210 degrees for the next 9 minutes, and then stage 3, 180 degrees for the next 20 minutes... then it shut off.COOL !

Worth the effort
Great product, makes a good cup of coffee. The lid is loose like others at but it’s not a big deal. Making a coffee isn’t as easy as using k-cup but it tastes a hell of a lot better. The handle does not get hot & sometimes some grains get in the coffee but they sink to the bottom of pot. Let it sit in pot for a moment and the sediment sinks. Even reheating the coffee after hours still tastes good. I got the 9 cup, and it’s enough for me.The only downside is more effort to prepare and clean. But to me it’s worth it.

great percolator
I've found this to be the perfect percolator. It is sturdy, well made and easily cleaned. It is beautiful to look at and the wooden clad handles, though can still get hot(right next to fire, you know), are easy to handle with care and enhance the look and feel of the pot. We've had ours for 3 years now and used it often in our little camper trailer without a failure of the glass perc top. Definitely worth the price. Thank you, Coletti!

Simple Stainless Steel Coffee maker with no plastic parts
Simple, easy to clean, and great coffee brewing without any complex parts that can plague other coffee makers. Also has no plastic parts like other coffee makers that can leech into your coffee. These percolator coffee makers have been around for years and for good reason, they just work without complex mechanical parts that often go bad and can trap mold & bacteria. This will assemble, brew & clean up quickly. Highly recommended!
