It’s designed for a purpose, it fulfills that purpose. There’s not much else to say. I’ve used it for at least 100 rappels since I got it several weeks ago and it hasn’t failed. But make no mistake, it’s cheap Chinese aluminum. That said, I wouldn’t be using it if I didn’t trust it but I would definitely check for defects before use.

Life saver. Useful in many situations.

The 'eight' is well made and nicely finished. The price makes it a bargain, especially when you see other versions of what looks like the same product on sale at a higher price.The only drawback that one might have would be with lack of UIAA certification and the stated load rating, if you are going to use it for serious climbing. I am using it on relatively moderately angled slopes and not for vertical descents.

I’ve only used them once but seem to be pretty well made. They’re a little bigger than I expected. You could probably use a 1 inch rope with them if you needed to.

This unit is small and lightweight but I would trust my life with it. Bought it when I was installing a steel roof and on countless occasions, it saved me from falling. Highly recommend.
