LG Magic Remote Control for Smart TV

Amazing product, it really is magic! Easy to setup (just click the OK button), works like a wii remote, saving time rather than clicking the arrow keys (especially when entering a username, email or password). Also programmed it to control my Samsung Blu Ray player, it had a barrage of other manufacturers on the list when I was setting it up. It can also control set top box's, home theater systems and sound bars too (that are not LG). One remote for all. The voice command feature is amazing, you can say 'BBC' and it will pull up all the BBC channels in a list, it's especially handy when browsing the internet through the built in web browser. I really would recommend it to anyone.

. We bought this as an additional magic remote for our LG 40UF770V 40-inch Ultra HD 4K TV as spare, as it is a key accessory to have. The design is ergonomic and sits well in the hand and the function on each button/ symbols are well laid out & having only a few buttons you soon learn what they are – really how often do you actually read the, manual, on your remote? this is not one of those “busy” remotes where there are tons of input buttons - it is clean, simple and functional. That said it was a slight learning curve to get used to the remote, other reviews I have read said it was a “breeze” to use straight from the box. As a family we found it works a dream with no real issues. It makes using WebOS so much easier and navigating web pages. If you're not sure whether it will work on your model just log onto the LG site and put in your model number. This is an essential, piece of kit, for some games on the smart TV, and you can just point and click at the screen to select & navigate, it is great for entering text on the keyboard scroll wheel is pretty neat too. All in all a good remote that does its job well. .

If nothing else at all this remote is brilliant for my wife and grandaughter. Ill explain......I bought a new LG tv and anything more than an off and on button my wife goes into meltdown, so with all the other remotes there needed to be an answer and this was it.....press a button and say " HDMI 1 " or " HDMI 2 " or whatever you have labeled your inputs........say " netflix " say " amazon " and it finds it ...........briliant.........and as far as the granddaughter is concerned she thinks its fun and can manipulate the tv without a problem............first class product 5 stars all round .

Worked straight out of the box alongside the new TV. Didnt even have to use the original remote that came with the TV. It does have a voice search option like IOS Siri or Ok google, makes life alot easier for my mum and dad.

Everything works fine, except it does not have the play, fast forward and rewind buttons. For these functions I have to use the original LG remote. Note that you can download an app for android which will do everything that this remote can, for free. Still, it comes useful sometimes, so 3 stars.

If you can figure out what year and model of the TV this remote can be used for then good for you. I have just thrown it in a drawer at this point

Shame LG don't mention you also need to add their WiFi and Bluetooth adaptor to utilise this remote on must TVs it doesn't originally come bundled with or the fact that voice control only works on their top end devices too. Great remote, flawed execution...

After using the standard LG remote that came with my TV for several months, I was dubious if this Magic Remote would be worth the money to effectively do most of what my old one did already, barring the cursor functionality. But I must admit it's a joy to use, and the fact that you don't even have to point it straight at the TV in order to get the cursor to work is great. It has made navigating the various menus a joy, and the buttons all have a nice solid feel to them. If you fancy getting the most out of your LG TV then you can't go far wrong with "upgrading" your remote to match.

I got a universal remote instead of the original

Vorweg, ich finde die FB wirklich sehr gelungen. Vor allem für die Nutzer von Smart-TV und Apps auf dem TV ist diese FB eigentlich ein Must Have. Vorbei die Zeiten in denen man mit der Standard-FB mittels der Richtungstasten den Cursor am Bildschirm herumschieben musste, oder Extra die Smartphone-App brauchte um das Teil ordentlich und schnell bedienen zu können! Durch das Erkennen der relativen Handbewegung kann man durch Handbewegungen nun endlich den Cursor auf dem Bildschirm bewegen und so auch beispielsweise bei Aufnahmen und Videos zu bestimmten Punkten springen, ohne das man Vor- oder Zurückspulen muss. (Die FB muss hierfür NICHT direkt auf den Fernseher gerichtet werden!) Zudem ist die FB nicht mehr so klobig wie die alte, und auch die Druckpunkte der einzelnen Tasten sind viel besser, und die Haptik hochwertiger. Zusätzlich bietet die FB eine "Spracherkennenung" mit der man zwischen Sendern oder auch Apps, Einstellungen etc. wechseln kann. Allerdings ist man gerade beim Senderwechsel per Taste trotzdem schneller. Ob man sowas braucht oder nicht muss jeder für sich selbst entscheiden. Ich benutze die FB mit meinem LG 50 LF6529 (gekauft August 2015), und hatte bisher keinerlei Probleme. Nur auspacken, Batterien einlegen, und schon konnte es losgehen. FB wurde sofort vom TV erkannt und konnte bedient werden. Gebrauchsanweisung braucht man hier absolut nicht! Klar möchte man seitens LG damit extra Geld verdienen, trotzdem muss man sich fragen warum so eine FB bei Fernsehern jenseits der 600/700 € heutzutage nicht gleich beigelegt wird! Für jeden der nicht nur Standardfernsehen nutzt, sondern auch Apps, Aufnahmen, und weitere Funktionen, eine ABSOLUT sinnvolle Ergänzung zu einem Smart-TV! Klare Kaufempfehlung!

Mi experiencia con un LG-49LF630V (webOS 2.0) ha sido muy satisfactoria. Cuando compré el SmartTV de LG empecé a usarlo con el mando a distancia que viene de fabrica y la experiencia fue bastante aceptable. Más adelante empecé a usar la app de webOS 2.0 para el smartphone y la experiencia mejoró notablemente ya que podía usar el puntero para acceder a las funciones del televisor de una forma más práctica y sencilla aunque la sensibilidad con la que se movía el cursor por la pantalla dejaba mucho que desear. Al poco tiempo leí un artículo sobre el LG Magic Control, me decidí a probarlo y estaba agotado, literalmente, en toda España. Por fín lo he podido conseguir y, realmente, cuando lo usas, se convierte en INDISPENSABLE para el uso del SmartTV. La velocidad del puntero es muy fluida y precisa, nada que ver con la experiencia con la APP. Puedes controlar todas las funciones del televisor de una forma mucho más interactiva y eficaz. Al principio, la sensación es un poco confusa porque tiendes a apuntar a la parte de la pantalla donde quieres mover el puntero, pero más tarde te das cuenta de que el puntero se adapta al movimiento del mando sin que tengas que apuntar a ningún sitio en concreto y enseguida te haces con el control. Además, no se cómo lo harán, pero mediante el menú de configuración del televisor, puedes configurar el mando para que funcione con cualquier dispositivo que tengas conectado al mismo. Yo lo he configurado para que funcione con el TiVo de ONO y funciona a la perfección. Cuando, en el televisor seleccionas la entrada del TiVo, el Magic Control automáticamente "deja de responder" a las funciones del televisor para responder a las del decodificador. Los comandos de voz están muy bien conseguidos. Puedes decirle comandos como "ver telecinco", "sube el volumen" o incluso puedes decirle el nombre de un programa y el mando hace que el televisor te lo busque, tanto si se está emitiendo en ese momento, como si se va a emitir en las próximas horas. También puedes decirle comandos de búsqueda en internet como "restaurantes en Granada" y el mando hace que el televisor abra el explorador web proporcionándote una lista de resultados. Por rizar el rizo, su tacto es bastante agradable y su peso es muy reducido, características que aportan una comodidad extra en su uso habitual. En general, estoy muy satisfecho con la compra.

It has been difficult to find the right remote for our new LG TV... we've had to send a couple of them back to other vendors because they weren't a match or just didn't work. THIS VENDOR was fantastic - actually CALLED me to double check the model number of our TV. Amazing customer service. It paid off, because this remote does work, it is a match and it's allowed us to ditch four other remotes. Now, just one - LG Magic. Highly recommended vendor; he really goes above and beyond. Thank you!
